Love the modern look, and bit the bullet on price - you can find fans for 1/3 the price. But Amazon also had the best prices out there on this one. This is in a sunroom whose southern wall opens completely in warm weather so we needed an outdoor-rated fan and one with a low clearance. Matthews support was excellent - there was an error in the installation instructions for the wall mounted control, so it shorted out immediately upon first powering up. They replaced it no problem. I also told them that the finish on two of the blades - which are real wood, BTW, not plastic - was obviously flawed, sent them pix and they sent a whole new set. Comes with a remote and wall control, features that were important. Also note that it can reverse directions, good feature if you want to push the air down or pull it up. Our model does not have a light but Matthews does make this fan with one. In fact, this line of fans has all kinds of possibilities: from various diameters, depths from ceiling, number of blades, and then there are multiple finishes to chose from for both the blades and the motor housing.

The quality is fantastic. We wanted real wood and a higher end look - this solved it for sure. Love it.Cons:- hard to install (get an electrician if you are not handy with this stuff)- hard to program the remotes- wood is very soft so be carful when building and moving them blades around.Again - there is a youtube video on installing them and building them. Do not put the blades on before you hang them! bad idea!! LOL - as I found out the hard way.

Probably the easiest ceiling fan install I have ever done! The fan is so light it really made install a breeze! The operation of the fan is nearly silent as all I can hear is the air movement in the room. The remote control (included) works very well and it also comes with an optional wall switch control if you prefer that over the handheld. I know it is expensive but it looks like a piece of art more than a ceiling fan, you will love it!

The electrician couldn't stop drooling over this fan. As he was singing the praises of its nuts and bolts he kept saying that his wife would absolutley flip over its style. It's been running in our LR for months now without a hitch. So easy to operate. We opted to use the remote. Quiet and gorgeous. Receive compliments from each and every person who enters the room. You get what you pay for. Don't regret spending my money on this one.

The fan it totally quiet at most speeds. The only sound you will hear at high fan speeds is the wind it produces. Quality built and the design fits most decors. The the blades are real wood and are nicely finished in a number of finishes. Not inexpensive, but worth it. I now have four.

Hi there my 2nd Matthews Irene fan. I got a Haiku L after the first Irene thinking that it must be even better, but the tried and true Irene is better in my opinion. It's so much easier to install than the Haiku. Its blade is also wood vs plastic. The Irene is also much quieter.

Amazing fan, I have it on a 8 foot ceiling in my small living room and I'm 6'7" tall and I still can walk beneath it. The fan is beautiful performs perfect, very quiet and moves a lot of air. I'll be buying another one for my master bedroom.

Love this ceiling fan! It looks beautiful and has increased our space as it doesn't hang down as far as the traditional ceiling fans with light kits, clear viewing line of the TV on the wall in the living room from the kitchen! The airflow output from this fan is amazing, definitely cools the place off! Happy we decided to spend the money on this fan.
