Hi, It is a 26 gauge galvanized steel if it looks like stainless steal you might of ordered the bare pan and it would need to be seasoned. There should be instructions how to season them in your package. The pan on the website is a seasoned pan., seasoned pans turn in to a black or brown color after they are seasoned. Have a nice day
