Three Dimensional Dog: A Unified Theory of Canine Behavior

Our baby girl Goldendoodle is loving and sweet but was behind the curve on training when we got her at almost 7mos of age. Add to that our novice status with a big energetic dog and it’s training, and the results are worried, anxiety-riddled dog parents. I would consider this book a supplement to an actual reputable dog trainer working with a dog’s behavioral issues. But the book is an excellent resource in helping to understand a dog’s behavior. The insight the book provides can help a dog parent immensely throughout the training process — and that process is a about a dog’s lifetime! The ability to anticipate acting out by a dog before unwanted behavior happens is explained and extremely helpful. The information provided is thought provoking, compelling, and reassuring for a dog parent who is perplexed by their dog’s behaviors. This is especially helpful in understanding and being reassured of training a high energy, working dog breed. Would highly recommend this book.

I could not put this book down! I could see all the mistakes I am making as a dog parent and Aaron clearly explained what I needed to do to correct them. I love that dogs rarely forget their training only test my parent's resolve to reinforce boundaries and expectations. An easy read full of help. A must for all new dog parents or even us old dog parents! Great job Aaron!

I loved this book!! Aaron McDonald really understands canine behavior. I worked with Aaron and he saved my dog's life. I rescued a Hungarian Vizsla that was headed to the "Gas Chamber". My rescur dog was fearful, growling and snapping at us before we called Aaron. He really understands canine behavior and after working with him my dog is a wonderful, loving and calm member of our family..His book really helped us to understand our dog's dysfunctional behavior. Thank you Aaron!! We highly recommend this book.

Easy read! Makes perfect sense. I'm finding better ways of bonding with my dogs by better understanding THEIR needs from me and their ways of thinking. This also added some insight into my kids' ways of thinking, too. Kids and dogs are so much more alike than I realized.

A compelling book of fascinating insight into your dogs thinking and behavior! It is hard to put down...my dog will be a happier girl thanks to this information and I hope to be a much better 'parent.' This book should be required reading for all dog owners...have just ordered another copy for my daughter. My thanks to Mr. McDonald!

This book was very easy to read and was based on the principles of behavior that I as a parent have heard many times. It was inspiring to learn that these same principles can be applied with my dog. I particularly enjoyed the vignettes about specific dogs and how these principles of behavior helped them and their owners.

As a current owner of five adopted Dobermans, I highly recommend reading Three Dimensional Dog as an excellent source of examining canine behavior from a modern perspective. A useful tool to add to basic obedience training that discusses the long-term parenting relationship between man's best friend and his people. Thank you, Aaron McDonald, for sharing this theory with the masses and for giving us new insight to our pack's behavior. "Bow-wow, woof-woof, bravo!"

This is an awesome book. Aaron has a deep understanding of how dogs think and what motivates them to act. And, just as important, he explains it in a fun and accessible way. I learned a ton and not just about dogs! All his theories apply to life, kids and relationships in general. I strongly suggest picking up a copy of 3d Dog!
