It needs bigger screws.
A crowbar or hammer will pull this off in five seconds flat if you use the screws that come with it. They're much too thin. However it looks the part, is hefty and makes a satisfying clink/clack when closing and locking. I put this on my shed as an additional and visible lock to reduce the likelihood of opportunistic thefts. Plus whenever I take my bike out or bring it back (it's always locked and bolted inside too) there's a good clattering of steel which sounds like the lock is mightier than it actually is. This has to be a good thing.Anyway, it's cheap, it's very heavy duty and it will do a secure job. Just buy the biggest screws that you can and be aware that if somebody wants to break in, they probably will.

Nice heavy component
Nice heavy component. Quite a lot of play in the hinge, which is useful if installing on a door that isn't quite flush, although does make it all a bit rattly. The included screws are rubbish, which I kind of expected but still -- would be clearer if they just didn't include screws, as in practice you do need to supply your own. The include screws are short, and fairly soft (heads strip at the very sight of an electric driver).Ultimately these locks are only as secure as the attachment to the surface, so for most people a heavy duty component like this is overkill, but I do like having something that looks the part.

Heavy Duty but Fixing Screws let it down
This works exactly like it should. It is sturdy and definitely heavy duty. the only complaint I have that stops it getting a five are the screws supplied are not the same quality. I replaced these with my own . The Hasp and Staple themselves are excellent.

Sturdy
Good strong construction. It did leave enough of a gap to get a crowbar in, but if they come equipped with a crowbar, they're going to get into my shed anyway!

Sadly started to rust very quickly
Used to shackle a garden shed, I was disappointed to see visible rust at both the hinge and the staple within two weeks of installation. Hard to see it lasting very long if it visibly corrodes so rapidly. Disappointed, as I thought Silverline were better than that

Value item
Great for securing the garden shed or garage. If it's for the mower and garden tools it's fine. If you're trying to protect your Jag, spend a lot more. Screws are rubbish so put decent ones on. Good value. Would buy again

Heavy duty item.
A good, solid heavy duty hasp and staple. Would be better with squared fixing holes to take coach bolts for added security as screws easily jemmied off. Had to drill out holes as a consequence but otherwise a good item.
