Great crimping
An excellent crimp tool. Bought this to crimp the smaller JST Molex pins/connectors. These crimps have a narrower nose which is perfect for the small connectors. Crimps with a wider jaw will flatten the small tag that holds the connector in the housing. These work perfectly and produce a neat and tight crimp. Recommended..

A Dupont cable crimping tool that really works and looks like it will be my go to crimp tool.
I had almost given up with finding an affordable, easy to use crimping tool, for Dupont plug and socket crimp connectors that provided a crimp as good as the mass produced breadboard jumper wires. If you can get good mass produced jumper wires why bother with a crimping tool, It all about length with longer wires you get problems with the way an electrical circuit will operate. So I like to use commercial jumper wires and tailor them to the length I need for each part of the breadboard circuit. The "WISS SN-2549 Crimping Tools for Dupont terminal 0.08-1.0 mm² XH2.54/ 2.54/2.8/3.0/3.96/4.8/KF2510/JST Terminal Crimper Plier Ratcheting Wire Connector Crimping Tool " has proved to be the best quality crimping tool to date that I have found. A********* The ratchet allows the tool to hold the crimp pin or socket securely while inserting the wire. Once the tool is fully closed and springs open the crimp pin is easily released unlike other brands and the wire and sheath crimps are showing the same closure as the machine produced crimps, with a similar insulation resistance end to end as machine made crips. The crimp tool is a good fit for my hands and the crimping pressure required to complete the crimp is comfortable for making 20 or 30 crimps at a time. Really glad I bought this tool, Amazons delivery time was also fast.

IWISS strike again with a great tool at a good price
I needed a reliable crimper for small non-insulated connections and this IWISS tool is great and delivered by Amazon the next day through the letterbox. Previously I'd bought a cheaper generic SN-28B tool but even when using the correct connections the crimps I was making were failing and not formed correctly so I was wasting a lot of connectors. Buy cheap buy twice I guess. I've had IWISS tools in the past and initially missed this one when buying the SN-28B but gave it a go as the previous tool wasn't very good. Immediately the same set of non-insulated connectors I've been using are formed better on both the bit holding the cable insulation and the smaller part crimping the wire and most importantly aren't failing in the pull test or giving me random continuity problems. There's a bit too much wire in the cable in the pictures and I've also shown the size next to a pen - these are little so just a mm too long makes quite a difference! You also get some good instructions with these whereas a lot of crimpers you'll be left to your own devices to work it out (although they all have their own pitfalls, it just takes time to get used to each set). For me definitely worth paying that little extra over the generic crimpers if you value your time - these aren't as expensive as proper Molex crimps but still seem to do a more than good enough job. Thanks IWISS!

Good value for money
Because I didn't read the descriptions I ended up receiving the wrong one. As it turned out the one I received worked well for Molex lose crimps so I kept it and re-orded the JST version. The moral of the story is read carefully what you are buying. I am not sure I am using the JST tool correctly but you need a knack that comes with doing ten or so crimps. You can crimp directly from the strip of crimps and use the edge of the backing material as the alignment face. I have had more success by breaking out the crimps and using them loose. I use a small darning needle in a handle/holder which I partially insert into the socket end of the loose crimp. This grips the crimp and allows it to be rotated and so you can push it into the face of the tool so the small retaining tab acts as a stop. Once located the jaws can be partially closed and the wire inserted. I'm sure others will have different ways of doing it. For the price and for the number of crimps I am likely to do in my remaining life time it is a good price and more than good enough quality.

Perfect Crimping
Very impressed with the ease and accuracy of these crimping pliers. I have other pliers which are also designed for uninsulated crimps and which have a flat head on one side of the jaws which, if you're not very careful, can rotate the crimp so it doesn't compress properly. But these pliers have a cupped face on rhe second side which is perfect for closing down the crimp. Particularly useful on the small 2.54 pitch molex kk type crimps. Great results.

At last an affordable crimp tool for JST-XH2.54 and JST-XH2.0
I use Dupont male and female header pins quite a lot and the crimp tool I have works well. They are quite long and not keyed so the JST-XH2.54 can be quite useful. I would use them more but... They are tiny and the Dupont tool is too wide so I end up doing each one with a small jewellery crimper, bit of a pain if you need to do several. Despite searching for a suitable ratchet crimp tool, one wasn't available. Many that claim to be were IMO unsuitable. All that has changed with the IWiSS XH2, the main problem with other crip tools is that the jaws are too wide, these are the perfect width. I haven't used XH2.0 pins yet but if the results of the XH2.54 are anything to go by, they should be perfect too. If you haven't used a ratchet crimper and are wondering why "ratchet"? After inserting the pin, gently ratchet closed until the pin is held securely. Now you can insert the wire, once in place squeeze and the jobs done. The jaws are a tiny bit too narrow for Dupont 2.54 pins, but a 2nd crimp would do the bit that was missed, or finish with jewellery crimps which I usually have to do anyway. So if you use both types of crimps and only want one set of crimpers, these would work well.
