Great budget vlogging camera, easy to use.
Well made and sturdy. This seems like it can handle a tumble. I’ve tried vlogging and the image stabilization is excellent.

Decent, affordable, functional for amateurs
Purchased for a Florida Nature Coast vacation and regular use while kayaking in Virginia. Audio quality and image stabilization have clearly been improved since earlier reviews. Camera and accessories are easy to use. Battery life was sufficient for short paddles and floats. I only used one with a back up fully charged in case needed. For a little over $100, I'm satisfied with the value based on the good results I got. I accidentally tested the water resistance by knocking it into the channel where I was fishing. Oops. No issues with functionality afterward, and a fun video resulted. Buy the extra accessory packs and waterproof case. All very useful and versatile. I would definitely recommend for an amateur looking for an inexpensive, decent quality action cam.

Excellent value for your bucks
After using my Akaso Brave 4 and loving it after a hike, I decided to get a second one (within 1 week), the Akaso Brave 7 - GY. Due to the attractive price, overall value, larger front display, and mild water-resistance without case. Definitely different, the Brave 7 is much more sturdy, larger, and a bit heavier due the construction. The features and menu flow is a little different too, but still intuitive and easy to do without the online PDF manual.Notable differences between the two. To start positively, both come with bunch of mounting accessories (everything you need to get started) - excellent! The batteries are slightly different size wise, so it you cannot share the Brave 4 and 7 in case you bought extras batteries (I did) - Just FYI. The outer protective frame on the Brave 7, it's cumbersome as it requires the mounting thumb screw removal to pull out the camera to get to the battery hatch, whereas the Brave 4 is a easy clip-on type without removing the mount screw. The rear/front display switching button and wifi enable is different. For display Brave 4 = Up button hold; Brave 7 = Down button hold. For Wifi, Brave 4 = Power button hold; Brave 7= Up button hold.Photo/Video/Setting configuration is similar and can also be done via touch screen on the Brave 7. Though something interesting in the Brave 7. Some settings are locked for edit and remain in default mode (not sure why these and other settings are modifiable). These are: [Camera]: Self timer; Auto Shoot interval; Auto Shoot duration; Burst photo type. [Video]: Timelapse interval; Timelapse duration; Video shoot time. This was frustration trying to figure out why....then assumed that these are probably not needed to configure, since you can do these manually in real time using the nifty Remote control (which btw, you have to charge its internal battery via included USB mini plug cable (yes mini) and not sure how long the charge will last though). Luckily the camera data/power port on both 4/7 is USB-C and you can use and charge at the same time, so that's good.Aside from that I like both. Brave 7, I'll exclusively use for hiking (water resistance to 33ft - great for rainy hikes, and waterfall spray). Brave 4 I'll use for beach vacations since it comes with a true waterproof clear case (to 130ft).

Total dissapointment. A complete waste of money and time. Don't even bother.
Not worth the money. I had high hopes after seeing so many good reviews of the Brave 7, but as soon as the camera arrived I knew there were going to be issues. The body itself is a nightmare if you're trying to use it without the remote or app. The buttons are hard to press and the frame is very difficult to grip comfortably even for someone with small hands. It came with 2 batteries, which I assume was an attempt to dissuade anyone from commenting on how SHORT the battery life is. I made sure to fully charge both batteries before powering on the camera for the first time and yet the battery had dropped down to 70% after the camera had been on for only 20 minutes. I hadn't even taken any photos or videos yet. When I did take the camera out to test it I found nothing but absolute disappointment. The video and photo quality is ABYSMAL no matter what settings you use. Everything came out grainy, ugly, and pixelated even when photos were taken with the camera held perfectly still. I don't even want to comment on the microphone situation (which basically may as well be nonexistent). I've gotten better photos out of $10 disposable cameras from the early 2000s.Even a child wouldn't accept the quality of the images and videos produced by the Brave 7. My genuine advice is to stay well away from this camera and to invest your money somewhere else. I will be returning this IMMEDIATELY.
