Not used diamond sharpening stones before, the honing guide is simple and easy to use. It is much faster an removing the metal as it were, very smooth surface results, always helps to have the 400 and 1000 grade shapening surfaces. This is way superior to the oil and stone. Spraying with water and wiping with a rag keeps the surfaces clean.

Decent quality item but a bit overpriced. Bought this to avoid buying new chisels as mine are all blunt. The build quality is good but the supplied measure is way off. I’ve made my own guide using the measurements in millimetres on the German side of the instruction leaflet.

Good tool

I have a fair few chisels which over time I've just thrown in a tool bag and the blades have dulled to make them pretty much useless. I bought this as I could do with sharpening up some blades instead of buying new chisels. I wasn't expecting to be able to get them super sharp considering the state of themIt took a long time but the results are great. I would recommend using a bench grinder to get any chips out of the edge but this does a good job putting a nice cutting edge back on my chisels.The guide is easy to use and super sturdy too. The stone seems to take material off quite well although I would like to see a higher grit included in addition to 400 and 1000 as I think I could easily get a mirrored edge with a bit of elbow grease.You can see the state of the chisel I used in the picture and I think the edge has come up pretty well. You can see score marks from the stone so I will look for a new stone with a smoother finish to get my blades as sharp as possible.Overall, a great investment to keep chisels and blades sharp

Must have to get the perfect angle, great size, good accuracy, good sharpening ability, Easy to use and good grip.

This is a solid piece of kit. It could be so much better though. The thread of the bolt that tightens the jaws is far to coarse, this makes it impossible to securely clamp the chisel in place, consequently the chisel tends to slip, changing the honing angle or just simply falls out. A finer thread would enable a tighter clamping action. Not impressed really

I have used other types of honing guide, this one is more stable and less tiring to use than, say, the eclipse brand.Clamps firmly, and the comprehensive instructions are easily understood.I use 8"/200mm sharpening stone, which allows me to hone much quicker than my 'Trend' guide.
