Buy it! Took much talking in my review lol
Short version- buy it!! But know the tanks both clean and dirty water are small so frequent emptying required but still worth it. Long version- I have been researching vacuums for a while and luckily fell upon Vacuum Wars and The Stain Guide youtube channels. Both were so informative and really helped me decide the right machines (within my budget). Vacuum Wars goes into multiple different metrics of each vacuum and helps give pros and cons of each. And i followed The Stain Guide's process so it took more time than it would if you're just using the vacuum as directed but the results were great I am so happy! The Con here is really a known issue for Shark- small tanks as i mentioned above but it didn't deter me because the function and features compared to others were so much better. I also kinda like that they're smaller (when I'm not doing the whole house lol) I feel like I will be able to whip it out for small jobs without it being a whole ordeal. Also note, if there is alot of dirt/dust it does cause clumps when you switch from pushing forward (putting down water) to pulling back (drying). This only happend in one area where I wasn't as thorough vacuuming. That said the vacuum DID pick it up but you have to go over it slowly and in dry mode it helps more too. On a related note and shameless plug for my other shark vacuum I bought at the same time.... the Shark Stratos duoclean "regular" vacuum...WOW might be even more impressive than the wet vac. I vacuumed seriously like 6 times, it just kept pulling up dust/dirt, mind you, I had vacuumed 2 days before with my old dyson! I was shocked and grossed out honestly lol. They do say vacuuming the most important step so I made an unplanned investment on the Stratos and it was also so worth it and definitely made a difference....sorry back to the xpert... Things I love: How easy it is to use and how well it cleans! The suction is amazing. There is a dry only mode too so I went around after my deep clean and got almost a whole extra dirty bucket of water out. The attached hose makes it so easy its always ready to use and comes with a bunch of different heads. This model kicks the hose on like a normal vacuum when it goes into "parked" position and back into deep clean when tilted back. THEN theres a spot to clean the hose on the top of the vacuum which is so convenient. I honestly can't say enough good things so I'll stop this is already too long lol. I fail to see how anyone wouldn't love this unless the tank size really bother you. (P.s you can ask chatgpt your squarefootage with the Shark xpert and it'll break down your potential number of stops and time it'll take to complete the job with the accumulated stop time. It's pretty impressive.

Color me impressed. (dramatically better than mediocre steam cleaners of yesteryear!)
Color me impressed. My business switched office space and the existing berber carpet needed a good cleaning. Keep in mind that this wasn't a home with children or pets -- just an office with a low volume of visitors and residual dirt tracked in from the gravel lot after people made it past 2 welcome mats. My past experience with consumer "steam cleaners" wasn't great - they spit out a lot of water, did a half-hearted job at cleaning and really couldn't compare at all with a professional steam clean. But 2 things convinced me to buy this -- 1) I've had great experience with a Shark handheld that has done the best of any vacuum I've owned over the years and 2) the cost of this unit was equal to a single pro carpet cleaning session. Figured worse case we'd have a carpet cleaner on hand and we had some upholstery that needed to be tackled anyway (past experience with hiring pros to steam clean upholstered furniture felt like we paid a premium for 5 min effort per chair and they looked about the same before / after) Wow. This "carpet xpert" does a great job, easily rivaling a professional steam clean, at least in the application we used. Cleaner arrived almost fully assembled. Took a brief moment to snap on handle and push in hose. Pre- vacuumed as instructed before firing it up. (cleaner is not designed to pick up hair, crumbs, paper shards, etc. so you'll need to make sure they're appropriately vacuumed up with a clear surface to start). Operation was pretty intuitive (I did glance at instructions) with the exception of the hand held unit (the "stain striker" hand held piece has 2 buttons - not at all clear which was for spraying and which for drying. But the main unit has a very simple push forward to spray, pull back to extract/dry. The "deep clean" choice on the machine is a bit gimmicky since there is no "standard clean" option, just "deep clean" but okay, I won't dock for that. The unit does hesitate to power off - my machine takes a full second or two after the power off button is depressed before it actually turns off. So much of a delay that I actually tried at first to depress the power button more than once with the effect that I kept turning it back on before it turned off. For now I'm assuming that's not a genuine issue but I'll repost if it becomes a problem. Haven't used it on upholstery yet, but did a great job tackling the berber carpet. The water came out... disgusting. Which is exactly what one wants from a carpet cleaning machine. Oh, unit warned about water temp not exceeding 140. I didn't much follow warnings about water temperature because I'm not really sure what 140 degree water feels like exactly or how much below this maximum is intended. I know boiling is ... well 212 degrees F and 100 F is bath water. And most water heaters max at 140. But the warnings intent or preferred operational temp wasn't clear. Should the water used be... as hot as can come out of the tap? mildly warmer than bathwater? much warmer than bathwater just not hot enough to burn you? And what exactly happens above the 140 degree cut off? Does the unit melt? or is it just a warning so that people don't burn themselves? I decided to go a notch below the max temp out of the faucet to get nice hot water, hot enough to work the dirt loose but not so hot that I'd get burnt if it spilled on me and that seemed to work.

Overall Great Machine!
Overall I love this and am a huge fan of Shark. The only issue I have is cleaning the machine and it spitting water. It's got many parts and crevices that make it difficult to clean and takes forever to do it. When using the machine, it seems to spatter out water from the vent/fan, which gets on walls, furniture, etc., so it can get messy at times. As far as the noise level, I don't expect any machine like this to be quiet. It would be a bonus if I cared. Initially, it was easy to put together out of the box. The design could be better but fine with me. It's not super heavy and is skinny enough to fit with my Shark vacuums in the closet. I do love the machine and it seems to perform well after many uses. I continue to order the Shark cleaning solutions only because I think it smells good. 😋

I love the shark vacuums so I was very excited to get it. I definitely not disappointed from from the design to the quality seems to to be well made to the suction it seems to be sturdy and also the jets shoots the force it needs to lift the dirt from the upholstery the cleaner also definitely the key I thing it smells great and cleans very well. Shark made it easy to clean the machine oh and th upholstery clean works very well and the carpet cleaner sucks up and dries fast I highly recommend the shark carpet cleaner

Does a quality clean job.
Ordered it a few days ago and just did a whole house clean. Just fabulous and as good as advertised. I did use my homemade cleaner rather than stuff that leaver a sticky film. Lots of brown stuff came out of the carpet. Will do several more time to make sure it is clean then to start on a every 6 month schedule for a while. Quality seem fine and easy to use and clean. Only thing is the small water capacity. Yep it is a bit small but if larger would be heavier. Lastly, took all the wetness out of the carpet and drys fast. Just a pleasure to use.

Great carpet cleaner
This is well worth every penny paid for it! It is fairly light weight and not as cumbersome as other carpet cleaners. It stores on its own platform, so water leeching would be contained. Very easy to put together and use. It really lifted carpet fibers up and it sucked up dirt that other cleaners left in the carpet. I love it!

Great product, terrible service
This is a great product, really. It feels like a quality build without being excessivly heavy or complicated. It simply works, and it works rather well! However the purchasing process was a pain, resulting me me losing a lot of trust in Shark/Ninja as a whole, and I was sort of invested in their environment. Pros: *No need to manually spray when not using the hose, the action of pushing and pulling automatically sprays and vacuums it up. *Uses a soap and an oxy clean product, in separate containers ad used at different rates. Mix the soap with the water (or dont if you are rinsing), but put the oxy container in it's own slot. *Uses minimal amount of water (seriously, very small tank and it doesn't last long, but you get a lot more clean than you would think and the waste water is straight up NASTY) *There are not a plethora of functions. At first this seems like a bad oversight, but really it greatly simplifies the process. You have Deep Clean (which could simply be called clean, but you know...marketing) and Dry. The Dry function uses no water and is GREAT to remove more water from the carpet for faster drying. *The low water requirement and Dry option can reduce carpet dry time drastically, mine was only damp for a few hours. *There are multiple latches, doors, and traps to catch the pet hair. These are surprisingly effective, and very well designed with the user in mind. With the push of a latch you can remove the front of the vacuum head, then flip open the spray nozzles tray and remove the brush. This leaves the entire brush head open for a wipe down and/or rinse, and the brush itself can be easily removed and cleaned. Then there is a trap that you can remove at the hinge joint of the brush head that directs the vacuum force from the head to the hose, this comes out and you can easily remove trapped hair and replace it with minimal effort. Then in the tank there is another trap for hair to build up on. It sounds like a lot but it is so easily managed that you will be happier at the longer lasting product as a result. *The choice of hose attachments is very helpful, with one of them designed for pet hair capturing the hair at the attachment in a tray. Like the rest of the device each attachment can be broken down easily and cleaned. *There is a clear label with barcode to order more of the cleaning supplies with a scan of your phone. After the warranty period you may decide to use your own, but their soaps work pretty decently. *There is a storage tray to prevent drips from ruining your floor when not in use. Cons: *Larger device, but this is expected. It is only larger than I like b/c we have limited living space. So this may not be a con to you. *The right side of the cleaning head has about 3 1/2 inches of non-cleaning space that is needed for the gearing. In most places simply turn around and use the other side. But for compact areas this can be a problem as the right 3 - 4 inches will not get cleaned. Experience: This is where I had a very bad time. I tried to order from their website. Loved the deal that they offered. Heck, I was even getting a steam mop and extra cleaning soaps for free! This on top of a sale. So I created an online account, verified the email address, and made a purchase. *Problem 1: They do not ship to PO boxes. This is normal, actually, so I put an alternate address so that I could receive the item. So I placed my order, and they took their money immediately. I was excited. Then I received an email stating that my order was cancelled. I called them 4 times before I was finally connected to someone so that I could learn WHY it was cancelled (the email did not provide a reason). *Problem 2: Apparently the system will not allow a PO box to be used even as a billing address. This is my legal address as mail cannot be sent to the physical location. *Problem 3: I use an obfuscated email. It works, and I verified my email (see above), but my REAL email address remains private. This is to reduce my online footprint and help prevent ID theft by being able to shut down problem addresses that have gotten sold. However Shark refused to accept this email, even though I was allowed to create an account with it, and proved that I can receive emails sent to the address provided. When I asked why this occured they used a bunch of corporate speak which amounted to: "We also make money by selling your information" which is exactly why I obfuscate my email. *Problem 4: Since I would not provide my actual email address, only one that works properly, I was informed that I may not get a refund. So they took almost $400, cancelled my order, and threatened not to return the money b/c I provided an email that functioned, verified that it functioned, and told them that I did not want my information sold. I wanted to BUY a product, I do not want to BE their product. However, three weeks later the charge did drop. So I looked for this on Amazon.com and I found it for about the same price as their model without all the extras that were included on their website. I make a purchase and discover that they will actually ship to my PO Box! . Problem 5: I received the unit without the hose, which is required for the system to work (even when not in use it plugs the hole so that the suction works). I contact Shark, they require me to register the warranty before they replace the part. It gets registered to the same, obfuscated email that I used previously when they cancelled my order. It is accepted, and I receive my part 2 weeks later. So now I have to wonder, why all the fuss when I order directly from Shark (giving them a higher profit margin) but not a single complaint or comment when I need to use it for the warranty? In sumary: I still love the Shark/Ninja products, but now I will never buy from them directly as the scheme that they have is manipulative and misleading. I never wanted to be an additional income to them by letting them sell my information, but they would not let me complete an order until I did. Shady!

Fantastic rug cleaning system for multi-pet homes!
I’ve been very impressed with the Shark CarpetXpert Pet Hair Pro overall. The unit is easy to work with and feels very heavy-duty and well built. It cleans extremely well, you can literally see the dirt being pulled up as you use it, which is very satisfying and reassuring. It works especially well on pet hair and high-traffic areas particularly for a home cleaning unit. Cleaning and maintaining the unit is also straightforward, which is a big plus. The tanks and components are easy to remove and rinse, making cleanup after use quick and hassle free. The only downside I’ve noticed is with the roller brush. It has to be in the exact correct position for the machine to properly suction up the cleaning solution. Unfortunately, the unit doesn’t alert you if the roller brush isn’t positioned correctly, so the solution can oversaturate the rug until you realize something isn’t functioning as it should. Aside from that issue, this is a powerful, effective carpet cleaner that delivers excellent results, especially for homes with pets. I’d still highly recommend it, just with a bit of extra attention while using it.
