A really well-made product
I have purchased both the "I Never Forget A Face" and "Life On Earth" eeBoo memory games for my three-year-old granddaughter and they have been a hit. Memory games are a great investment because children enjoy playing them for a span of several years and their parents enjoy playing them, too. They exercise memory and concentration, foster the development of social skills, and teach pattern and spatial recognition and even math. My grandaughter even uses hers in solitary play. The construction of these sets is superior to that of other, mass-marketed memory games; they're built to withstand many years of use and the cards are perfectly sized for little hands to pick up and manipulate. They're also easy to pack (in a baggie) for a trip. But what sets the eeBoo games apart is their quality artwork. When purchasing any item, I always look at aesthetics first and I think this guiding principle is especially important when choosing play equipment for children. Practical, well-ordered, and beautiful design is art education built into the object. If children are only presented with cutesy Disney and schlocky Hallmark images, they will grow up thinking that that is what the world is supposed to look like. The images here are accessible and kid-friendly, but do not stoop to the level of cartoon-y condescension or crass product endorsement. Please consider this review a hearty endorsement of these and other eeBoo products. And thanks to Amazon for making available to us products that are not, but should be, stocked at the local box stores.

Stunning
Simply beautiful. The memory pieces have a good thickness so they won't break easily (unless chewed on or brought into contact with water). The edges and corners are all rounded. The surface is shiny smooth so even if your child would try to draw on it, I would guess you can easily rub it off if caught in time. The pictures are nice and the set just screams quality. We bought this for our not quite two and a half year old even if she was below the intended minimum age of this particular set (five I believe) and had great fun playing. Of course she didn't get the concept straight away (turning three cards etc) but we just kept going. We also just use less cards like five or six pairs so I doesn't get too overwhelming.

Beautiful and fun
Got this as a gift for a 3 year old and it is an excellent choice. The pictures are beautiful and colorful, making them fun to find and distinctive. Great game for teaching attentiveness, turn-taking, and of course, memory building.

he does love dumping the pieces out and putting them in the ...
Bought this for my 15 month old, and while he is still a bit young to play with it, he does love dumping the pieces out and putting them in the box. I am so thrilled with this purchase though. The images are beautiful, they are the perfect blend between childish and artistic, definitely not like some of the more tacky ones you see. The pieces are very thick and seem like good quality that will hopefully stand the test of time. I think these are definitely great for those under 5 years old as well. While they may not get the hang of memory the game, it is great for learning different plants and animals and starting to match some up a few at a time. This would make a wonderful gift and we are already making a list of people to purchase this for. Really happy with my purchase.

A great find
"Life on Earth" matching game consists of 24 pairs of tiles made from 90% recycled gray board and soy based inks. I took off one star because it was made in China. The tiles are glossy, thick, high quality and ~2.25"x2.25" in size. The illustrations are beautiful and slightly whimsical. You will not find the typical (read: boring) apples, puppies and elephants here. Instead you will enjoy a lemur, luna moth, coral fish, lemons, thistles and a cactus. This toy was purchased for my daughter who just turned 2. We play with all the pictures facing up and she has a grand time finding the pairs. The drawings are engaging and keep her interest. I fully expect this toy to last a few years, until she is old enough to play it as a proper memory game. As a previous reviewer noted, this game would make a wonderful present and I will be purchasing additional sets to give away as gifts.

Beautiful sturdy game
My daughter and I have been playing this game several times a week for almost a year now. It is super sturdy. The pictures are great and have enough variety to help keep the apart and help kids remember. I could see it being used as a vocabulary builder with smaller kids. A great version of an old classic.

Me encantaron las ilustraciones de las tarjetas, además se sienten muy resistentes y duraderas. Lo compre para mi hija de 4 años, y aun no le engancha la dinámica de memorama, tal vez es más recomendable para niños un poco más grandes.

I got this for my son, who is only 20 months, in hopes that he'd learn to match the tiles. The thinking is that in time, we can actually play with it as a memory game. So far he hasn't really figured out the matching part, but he absolutely loves the pictures. He loves taking them out of the box and makes my husband and I look through them with him - he has actually learned quite a number of new words by doing this. The illustrations are beautiful and the tiles are good quality, so I'm sure the set will last for a while.

I always know I'm going to get quality when I buy anything Eeboo. This is no exception. Thick bright colour tiles which feel good to hold & play with. Tactile. I have another set of Eeboo Memory tiles (also insanely good quality & even brighter colours) & those are grand too. This game is a old fashioned classic - matching & memory. But memory games will never go out of fashion. Along with the usual matching game we also play a story telling version where you play down one set of the matching tiles, one by one, face down telling a story as you go, then have to match the other half of the set on top, face-up. If that makes sense! It's a good game for adults too. Any game that tests your memory, esp one that looks so pretty, is a good game. Lovely Memory set. Not cheap but a very lovely gift.
