GRITTY..GREASY..NO more MOISTURIZING than BLUE MAGIC hair condoning grease ..cant report on growth because it was too MESSY to use at all PERIOD unless you live out doors it left grease marks everywhere your head touched...its no better than putting crisco mixed with oil and dirt on your hair even if you WRAP hair or wear BONNET doesn't matter it penetrated it....hair looked dirty from the Chebe particles in other words you would have to wear a WIG to cover your hair everyday if you used this as specified to directions....smell is okay..thats the only good thing about this.

OK so it was after I used this that I noticed the instructions on the jar are different from the product description. The jar says to wash and deep condition hair first, apply to damp hair after deep conditioner is rinsed out, sit 3-4 hours (or leave in), then rinse out.The Amazon product page says to apply leave-in conditioner and then apply, avoiding the scalp, and does not mention rinsing it out. I followed the jar instructions but got some of this on my scalp. I wish the jar had the same warning about not getting it on your scalp. My scalp feels mildly irritated, like a mild sunburn, but I can't tell if it's this product or the shampoo brush I had to use to get it out.The texture is like a blend of petroleum jelly and shortening. It's easy to apply. However, the smell is quite gross. The beef tallow scent is strong and there is an ashy, burned smell. The teeny bit of peppermint oil is not enough to make the unpleasant scent. They really need to add more.I wrapped my long hair around my scalp and then covered it with a disposable shower cap to avoid the product staining stuff. I don't see how you could leave this product in without making a mess, even if you are okay with the smell.It was very difficult to rinse out. I tried with just hot water and saw lots of dirty water going down the drain, but my hair was still greasy and smelled bad. My hair was sort of soft but did not seem moisturizing or in better condition than with my usual products.The smell and greasy texture were bothering me after a few hours so I gave in and used shampoo - much more than I would usually use. I had to use a shampoo brush to get every strand washed. Well, my hair tangles no matter what I do so I had to condition again after shampooing. So between deep conditioner, this product, and my regular conditioner I've had to use 3 products.I'll keep using this following the 3-5 day routine specified on the jar as I do hope it helps with hair retention, but as far as making my hair look better it's a big nope. My hair is fine, fragile, dry, and thin. My type is 3A with some 2C at the crown. The product page says it's for all curl types but I don't think this is suitable as a leave in for 2 and 3 types.
