Excellent books for preschoolers and school-age children to discuss typical development, challenges, and being different
Sofia the Snail: The little snail that was afraid of the dark is one of four books in Danielle R. Lindner's M.A. children's collection that discusses being afraid of the dark and how to manage and overcome that. This book does an excellent job of addressing the topic for preschool and school-age children. This book like all of the others in the collection is beautifully written and engaging for children and has lovely graphics. I recommend this and the others in the collection for parents, caregiver's, teachers, therapists, storytime, and waiting rooms. As a child and family therapist, aunt, and parent, I highly recommend these books for discussing typical development, challenges, and being different with preschool and school-age children. Betsie Bee: The little bee who learned how to share and care in preschool, Arabelle: The bat with the most wonderful pink glasses, and most recently Koby: The little kangaroo who worried all day.

Nice looking, but needs punctuation!
The story and illustrations are great. Love the cadence and the rhymes in the story... HOWEVER, there is absolutely no punctuation in the story. The story switches from narrator to spoken dialogue with no quotes. It isn’t how a book should be written at all.

Sofia the Snail
I bought this book as a first birthday gift for a child named Sofia. It was perfect. Adorable story with short verses on each page. The perfect read for little ones with short attention spans.

Beautifully written story that my kids loved.
I bought this book to read to my two children and both loved it. It's not only a sweet story about a mother and daughter snail, but it also helped my youngest work through his fear of the dark. This book is a great bedtime read that has become an instant favorite in our house.

Sofia is afraid of the dark. But this book ...
Sofia is afraid of the dark. But this book discusses monsters in a way that might just cause issues for children already having issues with the dark. This discusses them in a way that would seem adults are saying monsters are real.

Not sure about it
I think some of the images and words brought new ideas to the forefront and would have frightened my little girl more.
