This sound reminds me of my childhood. I honestly prefer the square kind that my grandma had on her milk cow but this came at the perfect time and was so cute I needed to have it!! I see one review had theirs break. No idea how that would happen. This thing is hardcore. The strap will likely last the rest of the century and beyond. Super thick leather with strong stitching. The bell itself is sturdy and metal. Really happy with the purchase. I can't believe some are saying it's too small, maybe because the description says "giant". It's true...not giant. This is a good size - the size you would need for a bull. it's great. If you like farmhouse style, you'll love this. I don't think it's for use on an actual livestock - you need a different attachment for that...but for alerting me when the dogs or people come in the back door, beautiful. I smile everytime.

This bell was a gift to a friend and she absolutely loved it! Super cute decor. Material quality is good. Size is a bit smaller than I had imagined. However, it’s light weight and sound works great too!

Quality product at a more palatable price than you'll find in most souvenir shops in Switzerland.

So this doesn't ring unless you really swing your arm back and forth. Hanging it from a tree branch or gate will not do it. This is an very pretty and striking piece. I am using it as part of a very large christmas centerpiece but first I tried it on a gate, but even slamming the gate wasn't enough to do more than a small settling sound. The bell is very gold. The clapper is unpainted and only visible if you turn the bell upside down.

We love the sound of livestock bells, having encountered them on any number of animals around the world—donkeys, goats, cows...—and we got this hoping to attach it to a bicycle for a bit of whimsy (and a bit of safety). Bottom line, this is more a decorative piece than meant for use—despite the fact that it does actually sound pretty melodious and distinctly evocative of bells of its type encountered in actual use. The problem such as it is is that rather than being hammered/formed brass or bronze, it is some other metal which has been painted a bronze color—and the painting was distinctly imperfect on arrival, with some modest areas of blistering and incipient flaking. We're not confident it would stand up to regularly rattling and banging, so have relegated it to more domestic duties.

i put this bell on my back door to let me know someone is entering or leaving.. it is quite a large cow bell but is is beautifully crafted.. and the sound is sure to put a smile on your lips!!
