We asked, what garment would we make to help women that suffer from vulvar varicosities, whether during pregnancy or not, that suffer from prolapses, and that would help those that have hernias or may get them? We looked around and found a lot of contraptions that were made of elastics wrapped around and around and we said no that’s not it!. We need a garment that is just that, a garment, a brief, a panty that may be worn everyday just the same way women wear their regular underwear already. So we went to work and created it.The Underworks Vulvar Varicosity Support Brief is made to be highly effective in alleviating pain and reducing symptoms associated with vaginal swelling. Also known as vulvar varicosities, these are varicose veins at the outer surface of the female genitalia (vulva). They occur most often during pregnancy. As a result, blood pools in the veins of your lower extremities as well as your vulvar region causing vulvar varicosities or Lymphedema. This brief has two overlapping bands built into the it that run through the pubic area providing compression and relief from vulvar swelling and overlap exactly where a floor of support for the pelvic area is created at the bottom. This helps in relieving prolapse such as Cystocele (when the bladder protrudes the vagina creating a bulge), Rectocele (when the rectum bulges into the back wall of the vagina), and Uterine prolapse (when the uterus drops into the vagina). The garment is secured at the waist with a drawstring waistband thereby allowing for a lot of flexibility in locating the garment and tightness desired. An inguinal hernia occurs in the abdomen near the groin area. They develop when fatty or intestinal tissues push through a weakness in the abdominal wall. This brief is effective in creating an artificial firm lower abdominal wall of support that alleviates the pain caused by existing hernias such as Inguinal hernia and Femoral hernia and to help in prevention of future hernias.

Make a huge difference to my life
I've been using these for a few months. They help support my prolapse fantastic. I like the low rise on these shorts as you can hike them up for extra support and you can tighten the string at the top to give a better fit. I was disappointed to see they do not do an Extra small as I have the knicker/pants version and they do not give me enough support due to being to big and too high rise. They have made my life so much more bearable.

Just get some compression shorts
These are not even as good as compression shorts and very expensive given that. I also tried to return them, but the seller has not refunded me.

These definitely work
I have a grade 2 uterine prolapse and am currently waiting on surgery which is over 2 months away. I was in constant pain from pretty much doing anything other than laying in bed, but even that was painful. All of the pain also caused fatigue, which also caused issues with concentration. I have a job where I sit all day but I need to be able to think because it's a highly technical job. These are a lifesaver. I have this boy short style and the brief style. They both work but the boy shorts are my fav. They ARE BETTER THAN COMPRESSION SHORTS, which I tried but did nothing. I put on some compression shorts, coughed, and immediately had a back spasm. Needless to say, I put these back on. So for the reviewer who said these are the same as compression shorts must not have a uterine prolapse because there is a major difference. Are they sexy? Not really, though they do give your butt a lift and smooth you out. Frankly, I don't give a rat's patootie if I'm sexy right now. I just want to be able to function. With these, I don't have to ask my kids to drive me places or go to the store for me or take off more sick time at work. I'm incredibly grateful these exist and absolutely 💯 recommend these. They are worth the price.Fun fact, there is a website for Underworks so you can buy directly from them. They ship from Miami, FL., so you may consider ordering from there if that's close to you as they are less expensive than here but take longer to ship.

Didn't know how much they helped until I took them off
I bought these for post op compression and wore them over long, body hugging boy short underwear the last 5 days ("Jockey" brand, women's "Skimmies" - can't recommend those enough). Wearing them over underwear meant I wouldn't have to wash them as often as if I wore them as my first layer - and also allowed me to stick an ice pack inside them that was held firmly but gently against my body.I did not realize how much they were helping until I took them off to throw in the wash today and spent an hour walking around my house without them. They have been saving me a (now) very noticeable amount of discomfort and I just ordered a second pair so that I don't have to go without them for even a couple hours when I next need to wash them.Highly recommend.

Runs very small
I’m pregnant with baby #3- I am one of those unfortunate people who has vulvar varicose veins that enlarge during pregnancy and cause a lot of swelling. These are so small and tight. I had to get an XL and I wear a size 6-8. I’m usually a small or medium in clothes. Not comfortable at all. They don’t necessarily add any compression to vulva area but because they have a thick liner in the crotch area, it disguises the varicose vein bulge somewhat. Can’t really wear underneath of clothes because the shorts line is visible. Only would work for around the house.

May work for certain things
These are sized appropriately based on sizing recommendations, but I didn't find them to have strong support which is what I was looking for. These have a thicker crotch area, but not too thick that it would be obtrusive and the material is comfortable. I have a stress fracture in my pelvis that I'm trying to stabilize and these didn't have enough support/compression for that purpose, but if your issue is just vulvar area then they may work just fine.

Good product, but runs large
I like this product even though I’ve only had it a few hours. I went walking for the first time in a while, and I felt great. I’m excited to get back to living life. My only surprise was that the product was much larger than I expected it to be. I’m 5’7” size 12 jeans, and I ordered a large based on my hip measurement. The large is really quite big on me. I’ve pulled the drawstring as tightly as it’ll go, but it’s still somewhat loose. I just now reordered in a size medium. I wore my boxer style undergarment beneath my tightest workout pants, and it’s very comfortable. The fabric is thick, but very breathable and stretchy. The crotch area is particularly stiff (not in an uncomfortable way, though— it’s stiff as in supportive & strong) and it’s thicker than the rest of the garment. I was literally praying to find something that made me feel like I could get back to living my life, and even though these are a bit too big, I can already tell this is what I needed (just in a smaller size). I definitely recommend the boyshort/boxer style to any woman needing physical support so she’s no longer afraid of living life or living in constant fear of making the pelvic issue worse. These are a physical AND mental boost for me. I am keeping the size large, because I believe they’ll work well to wear with feminine menstruation pads. If you’re planning on wearing pads with them, especially the larger/overnight pads, it might be a good idea to order a pair one size larger than what you’d typically need, just for that time of the month.
