I use this to keep even the tiniest amount of smoke from happening with my indoor grill. I love to grill in the winter but don't like the effects of the smoke in my house. This is a powerhouse. I was skeptical but it works very well. Buy the extra filters so you are ready when you need to replace them.

We have a tiny kitchen with no fan ventilation at all. We frequently set off our smoke alarms when cooking and often have greasy, lingering odors in the house. The main problem I've found with this contraption is, that although it is relatively small, because of our small kitchen it has to be stored away on a shelf. Since we've cooked in our kitchen for over a decade without a fan, we always forget about it until our house is filled with oily smells.Last night, when making tofu katsu, I made a batch without the fan. As the kitchen started filling up with the familiar greasy smell I remembered the fan and set it up over the skillet. It has two settings and they're both pretty loud. On the highest setting you could not listen to music or have a conversation while it's running. I put in on the lower setting and could visibly see the smoke being sucked up into it.. I left it running while we ate and have to say that the the smell was much less noticeable after the second round of frying than the first.It does work, it is attractive, but it takes up room. You have to plan to use it, but I think once you get in the habit it is a good addition to kitchens without any other exhaust fans.

This is an excellent product! We don’t have an exhaust fan over our stove and this is sooooo helpful!!

My kitchen vent at home just doesn’t do the trick so when I saw this little item I thought. Why not?Packaging very sturdy and so is this portable vent, but unfortunately it has to be right on top of stove with an opened window close by. I tried using it in every different way but it’s just OKAY. I needed more than just ok.

We replaced a downdraft gas cooktop with an induction cooktop in our island. Not finding a good induction unit that fit and included downdraft (at least not without spending a ridiculous amount of money) we opted to go without venting. This is only an issue on the occasions we make something particularly smokey or smelly. Tired of venting the whole house we decided to try this and it works sufficiently well to prevent the smoke alarm from false alarming. The suction is good but you have to put it right up on the pan to get the best use of it. It would be ideal if it designed to articulate in such a way that it could be placed directly over the pan. Worth the price we paid and it does work.

I bought this with some apprehension as I couldn’t believe it would actually perform very well. My kitchen was built in 1938 and there was no room for a range hood without a major remodel. I decided to try this out and I am so happy I did. It works very well to “suck up” the smoke and steam. Of course it’s not like a huge range hood, but it does work great. My husband and I love it. It is small enough to sit next to the cooktop and powerful enough to keep the kitchen smoke free!

This product is amazing, seen it after the $54 CAD one. went with my gut feeling and bought this Ciara $300 CAD one. Works as descried and beyond my expectations!! Read the instruction and make sure the back part of the the exhaust fan is not obstructed and HAS FREE AIRFLOW!!!! Cheers
