Great all around grinder
I've owned this grinder for almost two years now and I can't say enough good things about it. I originally bought it to be a good all around grinder while I dabbled in espresso while mostly drinking French press and filter coffee. First and foremost, the grind quality is excellent. I noticed an immediate improvement to my coffee from the first time I used this grinder. Once calibrated, a fairly easy process btw, it can be dialed in to make an excellent cup of coffee for many different brew methods. I used it for espresso, filter, French press, and plan to use it for pour over and had good to fantastic results with each method. I am not well versed enough in espresso to say it can be solely used for that, but it did give me some good shots. It has a lot of adjustable settings that once I had a general range for my setup could dial in almost any coffee with my setup. The handle is sturdy, the magnetic catch cup is great, and it is easy to hold while even finely grinding. If you make large batches, this grinder pretty much tops out at 45g of coffee. But if you're like me and make a 4-6 cup pot every morning, this is a great grinder to have. And when I visit my in laws who don't drink coffee, I can travel with it and my French press taking up minimal space.

Top Notch Coffee Grinder
I’ve had this grinder now for 6 months and have used it almost every morning and I am impressed. After experimenting with various methods and grinds, I’ve pretty much settled on the pour over method with a grind number of 50, but to each their own. The grinder is a breeze to operate and provides a very good and consistent grind; I’m using French roast whole beans. The grinder is exceptionally made and looks as if it should last a lifetime. One thing I’ve learned and will pass on: I was experiencing a lot of static electricity after grinding and to say it was messy would be an understatement. I found out that if you add about 4-6 drops of water to the beans before grinding, stir the beans around to distribute the moisture then grind, like magic, no static, no mess. Not sure of the science behind this but it works great. Overall, the grinder is expensive, no doubt about it, but it is 100% worth it.

Overall top quality and able to grind very very fine.
Very consistent grind, also very fast and easy to operate (easy to hold). No need for any upper body strength UNLESS you want to grind Turkish fine. I find that around 1.5 setting is ideal for Turkish coffee, which is very difficult to find in any grinders. The metal hopper sometimes hold the ground coffee, so you need a small brush to completely remove everything, but otherwise very happy with this grinder. Holds up to 30 grams of coffee, and the hopper holds up to around 35 grams.

Best I have ever used.
This is truly worth it. An exceptional grinder. It has a premium feel and looks great. The case and accessories are well thought out and helpful when traveling. It is on the larger side but this is great for filter coffee as the capacity can easily fit 30-45 grams depending on the bean. It’s very easy to use and dialing in has been a breeze. For V60 I usually stay between 6.5 and 7.5 and for aeropress it is usually a bit finer than that around 6 and 7. The external adjustment makes it very easy to switch between different beans no problem. No issues with retention either. The cups are sweet, balanced and with some clarity. Not a ton of clarity like what you would expect from ZP6 but it also means it is very forgiving and will produce great results no matter what you through at it. I also tried it with espresso and it was great. It took me 30 seconds day to grind a full 20 gram dose no problem (it was a dark roast though). Overall this is an awesome grinder that I keep coming back to and using it has been great. Would highly recommend it if you have the budget. It is worth it.

The best all-around manual grider on the market.
It has been a long time since I’ve seen a product as well-built and beautifully designed as this one. It reminds me a bit of Apple's product philosophy from 20 years ago (not the current one, of course, which has become a mere factory for disposable e-waste). If you care about coffee, whether filter or espresso, don't waste your time looking elsewhere. Invest a little more and get the best; the return is in every cup, for the years and years this grinder will last. Besides being very easy to use and clean (few parts, clear instructions on the website or in various YouTube videos), it comes with a case for storage or travel, along with two valuable cleaning items: a double-ended brush and an air blower. Congratulations, 1Zpresso, on the competence and care taken in designing this grinder.

Surpasses all expectations
When my wife and I started down the path to a perfect pour over we started with the Baratza Encore. It was a great entry grinder (still our day to day), but when we would pick up a fresh bag of beans from a new roaster, or just wanted to switch it up in the morning, or I wanted to brew a cup at work, it wasn’t very convenient to clean out the beans or pack it back and forth in my bag. This was my second manual grinder, but it’s by a mile my favorite. It is really well made - solid build, tight tolerances, heavy, feels incredibly durable which especially matters for a portable grinder. Refined details like the magnetically attached catch cup, the very finely tuned grind size adjustment ring, the big wooden handle, the spring mechanism for folding the handle up, the way the grinding handle attaches magnetically, and how easy it is to disassemble and clean. I liked the inclusion on the brush and air bladder for cleaning. The whole unit is beautiful and I enjoy having it out in my office. For a small manual grinder with its ease of portability it’s still the grind performance that won me over. Perfect consistency in the grindings, and I’ve enjoyed being able to very easily fine tune the grind settings depending on the beans and brew method of the day. And it is incredibly fast. The resistance while grinding feels very manageable, never catches, and it takes about 30 seconds for a full 35-36g of beans. My only small ? is the amount of static I seem to generate. It’s kind of hard to get the clinging grounds off the cup or the sides of the grinder, which makes more of a mess than I expected. I’m going to try misting the beans to see if it helps. But that’s my only negative. I love and highly recommend it.

Must buy for coffee lovers
Top-notch quality. For the morning, doesn't make a loud sound and grinds coffee perfectly. The grip is easy to use and the size makes it perfect for storing and travel. This is a fantastic purchase.

Is it better than cheaper hand grinders?
This is my second grinder to replace my cheap grinder, the HEIHOX, which uses common burr found in many grinders like Timemore C2. The quality and ease of setting the grind level is the best as mentioned by other reviews so will focus my review on taste and if it's worth the upgrade. I have done tests between the two grinders using Aeropress and the results led me to conclude it all comes down to what you like. The cheap grinder gives sweeter and fuller body but less clarity, meaning no separation of various taste notes. K-Max tend to produce lighter body but more clarity because you can taste all the various flavors such as fruity and floral notes in fresh Ethiopian. If you like Ethiopian, then K-Max is great. I like having both grinders to be able to change things up but I enjoy both. Some have said it's easy to clean and calibrate. I'm very technical person and I can tell you it's not that simple. You need to read and follow directions precisely. I ended up locking it and had to send it to 1zpresso to unlock it. At first they weren't going to cover the cost but did so after I showed them that following their instructions caused it. They agreed and they updated their instructions since after they asked me to review it. I have to say they did a great job supporting their product and they're very friendly to work with, which you won't get with cheap grinders. Is the K-Max worth it? Definitely! Its smooth and fast operation is the best so grinding experience is more enjoyable. It's preferred for high end coffees because it is able to better extract flavor nuances from the beans while giving pleasant grinding experience.
