How different are from the A5+?

A previous answer was incorrect, the HD6 does have a 3.5mm mini stereo input, in addition to a s/pdif input, larger 1" tweeters and larger 5.5" woofers w/die-cast aluminum baskets, improved crossovers, thicker MDF enclosures and grill covers, which are not offered in the A5+

When I connect a turntable to my HD6, why is the volume extremely low?

Hello, Your speakers provide only a line level input. A phono input is quite different. A phono cartridge has a very low output voltage compared to a line source, so additional gain is required. Furthermore, phono playback requires RIAA equalization (this because when the record is cut, the lower and higher frequencies are reduced and these must be increased for playback). So, not only will the record player be down in volume when connected to a line input, it will also sound very flat. You will need a phono-to-line preamp that connects between the turntable and line input.

How far apart should these speakers be placed?

It depends on your room dimensions and listening position. First of all they should be at least 18” to 24” from the back wall. For the sweet spot for a single listener sit exactly half way between them. Mine are slightly angled (pigeon toed) in about 5.5 ft apart, and I am 8 ft away. These are awesome for the price, but the cables and power cord that come with them are crap. I have invested some in upgrading cabling and a bettter dac with incredible results. Lastly, the speakers are lacking in the highs above 4000 HZ. With some free equalization app treatment they found like $3000 speakers.

I live in an apartment and after reading some reviews, can the Bluetooth connection be shut off?

I do not think that you can turn off the Bluetooth. However, you can put the speakers unti "sleep mode" which effectively mute the speakers. Or you can always use the "Bluetooth connection button" to disconnect existing connection.
