THERMACELL WORKS!!
I bought the THERMACELL as house warming gifts. They were used as soon as they were opened! Each party just happened to be held outside & within 15 minutes no flying pests! THERMACELL comes with a small sample of mats and fuel to get you started, I purchased additional fuel & mats because I knew they would love how effectively THERMACELL works! I chose this design & color because I felt like it could blend with anything without being a distraction or eyesore. THERMACELL doesn’t give off bad odors or make any obnoxious noises or sounds - you just realize your not slapping yourself or blowing a bug out of your face while your talking, yet your outside, @ night, near a light enjoying it all BUG FREE. If your outside a lot, especially in the evenings, and you don’t like the little flying bugs or mosquitoes around you, THERMACELL is what you need!

I LOVE this product! Very simply because it works.... when it works.
It definitely gets expensive using it through an entire Texas mosquito season, which I do not love so much. Especially if you forget to turn the butane off when you go inside nearly every time like I do!I'll be honest, the reason my repeller failed halfway into my 2nd mosquito season is thanks to my desire to save money. I learned to refill the butane cartridges myself, which is a sizeable savings considering our season is about 49 weeks long every year, and again, I needed a new cartridge every evening because I forget to turn it off. But, beware trying this! Many things can go wrong doing the refill process. Its not as simple as it looks on the how to videos. And it can (and did in my case) ruin the repeller. I had a cartridge unscrew to replace with a full one, but the valve is now one with the device. I just ordered a new one because I am a mosquitoes favorite snack and after having one of these miracle devices.... Well, I never plan to NOT have one again! These are truly genius! I tell everyone about them and even bring mine with me when visiting friends' patios or attending kids' soccer games. Just know there is ongoing expense with the pads only lasting 4 hours and cartridges lasting 12 hours. That's a LOT of refills over 49 weeks!

Very good
I am a magnet for mosquitoes and when bitten, I get ugly welts, and they itch horribly.I don't feel comfortable using any repellent on my skin, so I purchased protective netting for my head and body. I still get bitten by mosquitoes, and it is difficult to see out of. Mosquitoes stopped me from doing things outside. This product saved me. I don't go outside without it, and it is so easy to use. Even my dogs stay within the 15ft of product, which is great because it may reduce the chance of any transmittable diseases the mosquitoes can carry. And, it doesn't smell. It is so effective that I ordered another to extend the protection area.I do wish that it had a longer length of time on the cartridges, and repellent mats though because I take it every where I go outside.

Worked so well I thought my blood chemistry had changed.
I didn't get this item for free, so you can trust that my review is solid. Mosquitos are pretty picky about who they prey upon. They prefer a particular scent and blood chemistry which is why I can understand why the reviews range from "didn't work" to "changed my life." Let's face it - when you're in an area where mosquitos are so thick that you can hear them buzzing and watch them landing on your skin, you should just go inside. Not much is going to save you. However, if you're like me and your skin lights up with a neon sign for the mosquitos (and you are the ONLY one they're biting in a group), you're happy to try just about anything that will keep them away from you.My husband bought this Thermacell Repeller so I would stop complaining. I still haven't stopped complaining (sorry, honey), but I have stopped flapping my gums about mosquitos. We put this Repeller out on our porch during the beginning of summer, before the mosquitos were really out and about. About mid-summer I started telling my health care provider (and all of my friends) that I must be going through menopause early or having some major blood chemistry change, because mosquitos were no longer seeking me out of a group. As long as we were outside around our home, I just wasn't getting a bite. It was miraculous and beautiful. Then we went to a friend's house. Ouch. They were all over me again. It took me a while to realize (yeah, I'm a little slow) that the reason I wasn't getting bit at home was because my husband had lit the Thermacell each time we were outside. I honestly didn't even realize it was on and running. It doesn't make noise, doesn't product a smell, and doesn't really take up any room at all. Pretty dang amazing. We went through 3 scent pads this summer and one fill of butane and it keeps on going. It's easy to throw in a bag and take anywhere with us. Most everyone who visited this summer has purchased one. I advise you do the same if you're a mosquito magnet like me. It really is a game changer.

THIS ACTUALLY WORKS!
These are perfect for a patio, deck, or using while camping. One works great for a small deck or patio, but for a bigger space or while camping, I would highly recommend a few to spread out the 15 ft apart to make a larger covered area. It works great! There is no odor. It is lightweight and easy to pack and travel with.

Effective alternative to citronella candles
I used citronella candles for years- and honestly, I think the mosquitoes just think of them as aromatherapy. But, I love my Thermacell. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. They do keep the mosquitoes away. I usually put it on the ground under a chair or table on my deck. They are easy to use and the newer ones show you where to look to make sure it's turned on.The top gets hot, so keep it away from small children (or drunk friends).I tend to underestimate the effective radius because mosquitoes love me and will use more than one at a time.I would never go camping again without this.

Disappointing.
Only lasts 12 hours before it needs a new fuel cell. And they’re expensive. Also needs new ‘mats’.So it’s a costly way to repel bugs. Mi think I’ll try something else.
