Metal Guitar Method Book with DVD Paperback – September 1, 2012

I just received the book and DVD today. While I have not really done anything with it yet, I have looked at it. And here is what I think.The book is very well written. The instructions are very clear to understand, even for someone like myself. The diagrams are large enough to see with no problems at all. The tabs are easy to understand and well marked with the notes, etc...It does teach you alot more than you will find in a normal guitar book since it is about metal guitar. Leads, chords, power chords are all here and fully explained.The DVD is just as awesome as the book. All the lessons ate broken down and explained very well. All songs are taught are full speed, as well as played at slower speeds with a splint screen on the picking hand and the fretboard hand so you can see both at the same both at the same time.If you are interested in learning metal guitar, then this is the book for you to begin with. Very well laid out. Easy to understand. And a great instructor to boot.And the DVD is the topping on the cake. I have nothing bad at all to say. Am glad I decided to make the purchase.BUY THIS BOOK.

If you're a metal head like me and a beginner and you're really not interested in practicing songs like "Mary Had A Little Lamb" or "Polly Wolly Doodle", Metal Guitar Method is THE must have course. I am really enjoying working my way through this course. In my past attempts at learning guitar from books and videos I just never felt I was making much progress but with MGM I am amazing myself with the progress I am making and it really motivates me to practice. Considering all the overpriced, overhyped crapola in the guitar instruction market, this course is a real stand out and also a real bargain. So many courses take the approach of teaching you something and then move on to something else and seem to have no logical sequence of instruction and it all just never seems to tie together. This is certainly not the case with MGM. Matthias Young is a real teacher, not just some guy who can play guitar. His method builds skill upon skill in a very well paced and logical learning order and you practice those skills by learning songs composed by the author, not just practicing endless exercises. Thank you Matthias for this true gem of a course, I really wish I would have had MGM years ago.So, a journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step, stop reading reviews and add to cart NOW!

Awesome dvd and book! Starting as a beginner and picking up speed quickly with these learning tools. Would definitely recommend!

I just got this book to supplement my weekly guitar lessons and it is great! Easy to understand and the exercises are super helpful to learn the right way to play metal rock music. I only wish the author had a way to download the content online as few have a DVD player these days. The exercises are not only useful but fun to play and sound great making practice fun and not boring.

The book and dvd are good for the price but when I went to get the free bonus materials at [...] the site is no longer available. If you are buying this book for the added value of the play along tracks...they are not there. I would give it a higher rating but I feel a little duped.

I just started using the book a few days ago and so far I am enjoying the learning the way its in the book. Great method for beginning guitar players or more experienced. Easy to understand easy to navigate through.
