are these compatible with iphones (5 or 6) and samsung galaxy phones?

These are true studio monitor headphones! They have no inline controls and a long, straight, somewhat heavy cable with a heavy metal 1/4" phono connector. So, although they will work with ANY phone, they are not the best suited to portable use. They don't fold up and you'll need an adapter to plug them into your phone (they don't come with one, or anything else for that matter). They also have fairly flat frequency response; for most people this is experienced as cold, "sterile" sound with not enough bass! If you are set on these, might I suggest the MDR-7506 model. They are almost identical physically, but fold up, have a coiled (but still heavy) cord and a "warmer" more pleasing sound. They also come with an integrated mini phone adapter (just unscrew the 1/4" connector!) Still, not the most portable and no inline controls, but you'll save some money and probably like them better.

Is it possible that after 10-hour flight bass become weaker? Thank you.

Weaker? No. I have owned 3 pairs in my life over the last 2 decades. Highly doubt this will happen in a 10 hour time period but over time, the pads can flatten and therefore the drive becomes just a half-millimeter to one millimeter closer to your ear causing it to sound like there is less bass and more prominent mids and highs. I say this because when my pads deteriorate over time and I've bought new stock pads, It sounds like the highs become slightly recessed making it sound like there is more bass.

Trust, not promises

There are allot of new amazing headphones out there, all with 'promises, promises'.. The MDR CD900 ST are the last of the loved MDR red band models.. 'They don't build them like they used too !!'.. Yes they do... these are it. 'There has to be a middle ground, a reference we can all work from'.. these are it. 'It's a harsh line between a studio headphone that's flat & a hi fi headphone that makes everything sound great'., These are it. If you're young & itchy, go buy yourself a pair of the Rode NTH100, if you've been in the industry longer than the young have been alive, & you don't want to risk regret with the MDR-M1ST.. treat yourself to a trusted classic. These are the bright eyed, slightly older but hotter sister of the MDR7506. Only negative, (which isn't really a negative ) is that these are 'on ear' not 'over ear' but don't let that put you off, check out YAXI ear pads.. as pictured, amazing.. even with my massive ears, turned these into the most comfortable over ear headphones I've ever worn, could not be happier.

Great balanced sounding headphones

These build on the Sony Professional range from the 1980s. These are very similar in specification to the original MDR-7506 which is much cheaper. The CD900ST have Made in Japan quality which is worth the extra money over the 7506. If you are looking to use these headphones with a phone or iPod you'd be better off with the MDR-7510 or Sennheiser HD-25II instead as these need more power to drive them well. The weak spot in them is the ear pads in pleather which come apart after a number of years, secondly they are aren't as easy to repair as the Sennheiser HD 25 II or similar Beyerdynamic headphones. That's why durability is only 4 stars. In terms of noise cancellation they are good enough to DJ with and for outside broadcast monitoring, but they don't have active noise cancellation a la Bose. The sound isolation deteriorates over the years with the ear pads decomposing into pleather flakes and flat foam
