Metal Earth B-17 Flying Fortress Color 3D Metal Model Kit Fascinations

Gift for a friend who loves planes. Not his first model and I’m sure will not be his last. Easy to assemble for a model maker not for a beginner. Size and quality as described. The attention to detail is remarkable. It is durable but fragile if you allow little children to handle it.

I've done over 40 of this metal models, and the paint job and quality of laser cutting on this one is the highest. Having said that, like the other reviewer, I did have a hard time with some joints because it was so intricate. Level of difficulty is hard, takes lots of skill and experience not to foul it up. And I did use a little hidden super glue. But the finished product is very cool!

I’ve built close to a hundred Piececool and Metal Earth models of mostly difficult levels. The pieces are so small in tight spaces that requires wiggling into place results in broken off joints. I used glue in so many places to mend these broken joints that I’ve done what I have never done before building these metal models. I threw it out into the garbage.

My luck with the small pieces are not the greatest. As of now I will build a B-17 with no landing gear. The assembly for the wheel is so small I dropped it and karma took it. I looked everywhere on the floor, everywhere! It’s no where to be found. Ah, most lost their landing gear anyways.

This model is beautiful! So complex and filled with detail! Metal earth is an amazing job with the lazar cutting, and prints. This is hours of enjoyment and a beautiful display piece. But a heed of *warning*! This one is HARD(especially the nose cone)!! Not for beginners. I have done tons of metal earths, and this one is not for the faint of heart. I absolutely recommend this one for people who enjoy modding and for people looking for a challenge. 10/10

I love Metal Earth and have always had a soft spot for WW2 planes, however Metal Earth has a problem designing WW2 planes and the B-17 is no different. All of these models are difficult and require skill and tools to put together (that’s what makes them so fun!) but for this and other planes from the same era the finished product just isn’t as impressive as say the F-22 or F-14.

Dieser Bomber hat mich für mehrere Tage beschäftigt. Die Farbe geht an manchen Stellen wenig ab, aber es fällt nicht wirklich auf. Für jemanden, der schon Erfahrung mit Metall Earth hat klare Empfehlung, allerdings sollte man schon zwei, drei Metall Earths hinter sich haben

The finished plane is great but you need some skill to construct the model. Not for the beginner.

Thought the packet was empty on arrival. Model is absolutely tiny. Didn’t even bother to try and assemble it. Not worth the money at all
