Unable to Access More Than One Card At a Time, but Does Accept Compact Flash
Boy! does this card reader feel big compared to the others I own. And it has to be, this one reads Compact Flash cards in addition to USB-A pen-drives and SD cards, micro and standard. What an oxymoron “Compact” Flash sounds like in these days of Micro SD, but in their day we thought they were really quite small.Although the card reader can accommodate three different types of “cards” it can only “see” one of them at a time so, for example, transferring from SD to Compact Flash cannot be done directly. The USB-A flash drive can however co-exist with any of the other three and transfers via that are possible. Compact Flash seems very, very, slow. The claim in the listing that the device can, “Read & write 4 ports simultaneously” was not possible on my iPad Pro, because no more than two drives, one of which had to be the USB drive, ever appeared in “Files”. I carried out a “forced restart” of my iPad to try and correct this but there was no improvement. I also connected the card reader to my Windows 7 PC with exactly the same results. I am therefore putting the inability to access more than one card down to a problem with the reader.
