Best doorbell camera
The **Arlo Video Doorbell 2K** stands out as a reliable, high-quality video doorbell with an impressive array of features that enhance home security. Its sleek design and advanced technology make it a strong contender in the smart doorbell market.#### Pros:1. **High-Resolution Video (2K with HDR)**: The 2K resolution provides sharp and detailed footage, even in low-light conditions. HDR (High Dynamic Range) ensures better contrast, improving visibility in areas with poor lighting or shadows.2. **Wide Field of View (180 degrees)**: The doorbell’s wide field of view captures more of your doorstep, from top to bottom, which is particularly useful for viewing packages left at the door.3. **Smart Notifications**: Arlo’s advanced motion detection technology differentiates between people, animals, vehicles, and packages, allowing for more targeted alerts and reducing unnecessary notifications.4. **Two-Way Audio**: The built-in speaker and microphone allow for clear two-way communication, which is useful for interacting with visitors or delivery personnel when you’re away from home.5. **Direct-to-Wi-Fi Connectivity**: No need for a separate hub. It connects directly to your Wi-Fi, making installation straightforward.6. **Video Call Feature**: Instead of receiving just a notification, the doorbell can call your phone when someone rings, simulating a traditional doorbell while still allowing remote viewing and interaction.7. **Integration with Smart Home Ecosystems**: Works well with Alexa and Google Assistant, making it a seamless addition to smart home setups.8. **Package Detection**: This feature not only alerts you when a package arrives but can also distinguish packages from other objects or people at your door.

This is a clear device that truly promotes the safety of your home
I bought this Arlo 2K video call (2nd generation) around the end of 2025, and after several days I can say that the feedback is overwhelmingly positive.Pros:• Image clarity is really good - video is clear day and night, with separate 2K video.• From a 180° view, it covers the entire entrance area, including the threshold.• Two-way audio communication works reliably - you can easily talk to couriers or guests.• You can compete without darts, which was very important for me.• Integration with Alexa adds convenience - you can watch videos on the Alexa Show screen.Disadvantages:• Connection and setup took a little over an hour, but it was difficult, especially if you are not very technically savvy.• A subscription to Arlo Secure is required to save videos in the dark - without it, there is little possibility of sharing.• The battery does not last as long as we would like, as there is a lot of activity in front of the door.Zagalom, I'm happy with the purchase. This is a clear device that truly promotes the safety of your home. I recommend it to those who are looking for a reliable video call from a smoke camera and integration options.

Got it to work... eventually!
This is VERY hard to set up. I do want to say that after an insane amount of Arlo articles describing install issues, I was eventually able to try everything under the sun and it eventually worked. Instead of getting lost in the Arlo support section for Chime 2, here is how you do it:1) Install the Arlo Secure app (chances are good you already have this if you are attaching the chime for the Arlo Doorbell, etc)2) Go to Add Device3) Go to Doorbell and Chimes4) Go to Chimes5) Chime 26) Scan the QR code on the back of the doorbell itself (The instructions say you should be able to also find the QR code in the Quick Start Guide, but that is not true for the Chime 2, trust me that is a hot topic on the Arlo support pages. The QSG says install the app and follow the instructions, which are not helpful at all when the actual product won't do what the "instructions" say it should do. Side note, I actually took a photo of the QR code on my ipad and then started "scanning" the set up again and again with that so that I didn't need to sit on the floor with the chime once it was plugged in and rejected the set up over and over, causing you to restart from the beginning... by scanning the QR on the back of the plugged in device... super helpful... With a copy of the qr code to scan, instead of the device, I got a lot less frustrated compared to going back and forth unplugging and replugging etc.7) A few seconds after it is plugged in, the white blinking light will do its thing, as expected.8) Follow the app prompts to connect. Note - It says to connect to your network, but it is not your network yet. The Chime actually creates its own little Arlo_1234 network that it immediately asks you to connect to. Click that.9) This is where you-know-what hit the fan for me... I have the Arlo Base Station which is directly cabled to my router, there is no wi-fi to it and no password. However, my normal wifi networks for 5 and 2.4 were not showing, only my Arlo hub and a few other devices that are for other things in my house. YOU CANNOT CONNECT TO YOUR BASE STATION/HUB, if you have one. DO NOT USE THAT AS YOUR "NETWORK," You MUST connect to you home 2.4 wifi network at this point. It does have an option to type in your own network info, which doesn't work, not for me or any of the users I found in the Arlo support forums. Here is where seek and find with complaint forums worked out though...1) Turn off your phone's cellular network and start over with your phone connected to your 2.4 wifi network to begin with.2) Go back to Arlo app and add the chime device up to the point where you have scanned the QR and connected to the temporary Arlo_1234 network it generated and starts looking for your own wifi 2.4 network to connect to. After it searched for what felt like 300 years, it did bring up the list of wifi networks like the very first try, which again did not show my 2.4 network. BUT when I manually added my 2.4 network this time, it worked... I think the powers that be were aware that I already had my Amazon order up and ready to hit the return button... so it got its act together.3) Give it a name and choose your sound and then do the test run.4) The end, it worked. Moral of the story, disconnect your phone from Cellular, attach to your 2.4 network, install app, add device, scan QR, connect to temporary arlo network, manually attach to your 2.4 network, wait for the paint to dry, and then it should hopefully work. Best of luck, it is great now that it is connected! 4 stars since it is by far the most difficult Arlo device I have (which is 1 of 8).
