Evert Fresh really does keep veggies/fruit fresh much longer!!
I've been using Evert Fresh bag for over 15 years, and recommend buying a bag of each size (S, M, L). I've tried other brands and items (including mats for the veggie drawers), but Evert Fresh bags seem to work the best for me.I will typically wrap the items in paper towels. For example, I'll wrap one piece of a (pick-a-size) paper towel around each zucchini, apples, etc. For mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, green beans, etc., place enough (3-4) un-separated paper towels in the bag to cover the bottom and sides, then place the veggies on top, and cover with a few more paper towels as needed. Note: mushrooms contain a lot of water & the paper towels will soak it up quickly, so be sure to cook the mushrooms soon, or replace the paper towels before they get soaked. They will last a bit longer in the bags, but not by more than two or three days. For larger items like grapes or broccoli, wrap a bunch with enough paper towels to cover and place as many as will fit in the bag. For berries, just wrap the box. If you have veggies that are wet from the sprayers at the store, like chard or spinach, let them dry out for an hour or so before wrapping in paper towels, if needed, replace wet towels with dry the next day. However, spinach is best eaten within a few days.I squeeze out as much air in the bag as I can, then twist closed and clip off with a tight clip (Ikea Bevara Bag Sealing Clips), tie-off (used for garbage bags), or a rubber-band.The only down side to using these bags, is that sometimes it's hard to tell what you wrapped up in the paper towels! When the bag has been emptied, gently wash (I do it in a bowl with warm water and a little dish soap), rinse, & then hang from cupboard door (pinched between closed door & cupboard) to dry. I reuse the bags until they either get ripped, I can see holes, or just don't seem to keep the veggies fresh longer.Warning: if you are the type of person who buys vegetables/fruit, but doesn't get around to eating them, then don't bother to buy the food or the bags; just waster your money on eating out! :-)

Best bags for produce preservation
I use this for all green produce such as lettuce, watercress, cucumber, cilantro and parsley. They stay fresh a long time in these.I do wish wire ties were included with these.I have tried other brands and these are the largest and the best.

These bags are great and so is Ever fresh customer service
Thank you Ever fresh for your fantastic bags and great customer service. I've used them over 18yrs and have saved tons of food lasting for weeks so I save alot of money. My garden veggies stay fresh for over 4wks. Recently I ordered more bags and somehow (covid or fires) they didn't get to me. I messaged you and the next day you sent them out. I received them today, thank you!

BIG for farm sized vegetables
These are nice sturdy bags and the size L is big enough for farmstand / CSA sized produce. They wash up easily for re-use. I think the green bags keep things fresher, but I have not done a comparison test with a regular bag. They seem as good as any other brand of "green" bag. Sometimes I put a little cloth or paper towel in to control moisture. I appreciate that you can buy ONLY the large size!

Love these Bags!
I'd use these bags for years and then my store stopped carrying them a few years ago. My husband and I are vegetarian and We have two rabbits in our home so we consume large quantities of vegetables each week. Every sunday we shop for the week"s menu at our local farmers market and whole foods store. Once home, I wash everything in cider vinegar and water, Dry it thoroughly and bag them separately. My veggies will stay fresh for up to two weeks, or longer. I really love the large bags because they give large heads of separated lettuce lettuce leaves plenty of room to "breathe". I seal the bags with clothes pins before storing in the frig.(easier then rubber bands) When the bags are emptied, I turn them inside out wash them and air dry them thoroughly before folding & storing. I'm so glad to have found this online source, as my two year old bags were on their last toe!

Size
I had purchased some of the green bags locally quite a while back but could not find them anyplace so ordered these on line they are great and do the job, but I should have looked at the size they are huge, would have prefered smaller size but they do the job so will just wrap them up a bit

Great product, saves a lot of $$$'s
I've been using these bags for years now. They last longer than was originally expected and really are a savings when it comes to keeping produce fresh. In the case of fruits/veg you need to ripen, don't put them into the bags until they are ripe. Once inside the ripening stops! You want to save money by keeping your produce longer..try these..they have really worked great for me.
