Comfortable in warm weather
I rode to Italian Adriatic coast from UK a total of 2700 miles and found this jacket to be comfortable and lightweight..the temperature varied between 22° and 40° and the jacket with its air venting was well designed. Would definitely recommend for summer riding

This is a nice jacket. I wanted something light coloured that doesn’t heat up from sun exposure on summer days. I already have a Dainese summer jacket which is black on the front and back. Materials seem good and the jacket well put together. Protection is ok. I usually wear size L and ordered size XL, which was spot on. Arm length is a bit longer than average which I appreciate. It came with protection for the back, elbows and shoulders. Protection is kind of low end. There’s an inner pocket. No reflectors which is not as big deal for me as summer days are long where I live. It stands very well against Dainese’s offering. Best of all it was 20 euros. Yes twenty! Good god!

This is the Shima Openair in size M, as seen on my reasonably athletic 5'10" 170 pound build. The jacket looks great--especially paired with my grey Favoto helmet and my silver/blue color scheme bike--and the fit is very good indeed. This jacket doesn't have as many adjustment points as my cold weather armor, but--on me at least--it really doesn't need them. The jacket is just loose enough that I can comfortably wear a heavy flannel underneath it, while being tight enough to feel and look good with nothing under it but a thin base layer top. You'll definitely want long sleeves under it, unfortunately, because the honeycomb elbow pads are VERY uncomfortable against bare elbows--if you really want to wear this without sleeves underneath, you'll probably need to fabricate some felt pads to put between the elbow armor and your skin. It was just warm enough to get away with wearing this jacket (and no heavy flannel) on today's ride; at 60F and sunny, the cool air flowed through the mesh just fine and felt great, if frankly too chilly--but I bought the jacket for our 90+F summers, not our 60F winter days, so that's a good sign! There was no sensation of "flapping" when wearing the jacket without a thick layer underneath it, just tons and tons of airflow. One final note: for some reason, Shima used left-hand zippers for these jackets. In the USA, men's clothes normally has right-hand zippers and buttons, and women's clothes use left-hand zippers and buttons. That doesn't make the jacket "effeminate" but it is a slightly puzzling choice that makes it a bit more awkward to get zipped in and out until you get used to it.
