REVIX Extra Large Cold Pack for Hip Replacement, Reusable Ice Pack for Hip Flexor, Post-Workout Recovery, After Hip Surgery Must Have

Bought two of these pre-hip replacement surgery. If I knew someone about to have hip surgery and they asked for the top 5 things to get to prepare, these would be in there. Yes, the ice pack is pricey. But this pad is large enough it wraps around. I set mine by the arm of my chair and park my glute on part of the icepack and wrap the rest around the side of my hip. Instant relief. This icepack is REALLY heavy. Some folks might not like that if they have a touchy wound. I was concerned about it because my wound really hurt (35 staples), but because I wrapped the pack around and didn’t have the whole weight laying on my wound, it was fine. (It might be too much to put on top of a knee replacement, for example.) I have not tried to wear it because I haven’t been that ambulatory yet, but the straps are well made and once I’m walking more I’m going to try it. I do like the soft, brushed side designed to put next to my skin, but if I’m wearing pajamas or leggings I use the other side because it feels colder. I haven’t timed how long it stays cold, but it’s a decent length of time. Not all night, but certainly a few hours. I tend to swap mine every 3 hours or so because I want the pack COLD not just cool. These are really well made and seem like they’ll last a long time. I’m going to gift one to my son for his achy neck once I’m healed and keep the other one myself.

Overall this is a great ice pack. The only reasons I'm giving it a 4 star is 1) the bottom strap slips off the bottom of the ice pack when it is strapped around your leg. So it does not keep it as tight to my leg as I’d want. They need a piece of velcro on the outside of the ice pack or a loop to go through to help keep that in place. 2) it says it is reversible, but the straps do not work that way. This has worked very well for me recovering from a total hip replacement though. They stay cold longer than I anticipated and cover a large area with 1 ice pack.

Must have!!!! After my hip replacement surgery of course I was swollen. I used this ice pack often! Very helpful to ease pain and help with swelling. I love that I could strap it around my waist and walk around with it.

I bought this for my mother for her recovery from a hip replacement. She loved it and said multiple times that this product saved her from a lot of pain, both after the surgery and after her physical therapy appointments!

Started leaking after about 6 weeks, outside the return window. I'm 6' 220 lbs and it fit me fine, though the elastic straps were too stretchy to hold it on well. I used it every day before it started leaking. Gets cold and stays cold for a long time. Works great for sitting on it, but maybe that's why it leaked. I would prefer it it with non-elatic straps so it holds on tighter. Definitely large and covers a lot of area.

This is an excellent ice pack for hip surgery, but can be used for many other locations. Its soft gel is ice cold but not hard so it’s really good against tender wounds. It does take a while to get cold but if you keep 2 in rotation it makes a huge difference. The straps are wide, stable, and comfortable. The Velcro loop material is along the entire strap so the hook end will stick anywhere. The bottom strap is a bit long for regular sized thighs, but you can bring it to the top strap. I got the XL pack to get more coverage across the buttocks and hip.

Cold packs were shipped promptly and were as described. I am currently using them as I recover from hip replacement and they are great. Easy to get to the right area of coverage, large enough to do the job, stay cold for a long time and are well made. I really like that they come with a freezer bag so they stay covered when back in the freezer. I highly recommend.

Lifesaver after hip replacement!!!!

This is so good for the money, so comfy as it has a nice smooth velvet type finish to the outside and inside is perfect for icing the whole area. I’d suggest buying 2 so you can rotate them constantly, as with the first few days recovery you’ll need constant icing. I’m 5”11 and 90kg and the XL fits great, just the thigh strap is a little loose.

Add this product to your list if you are having surgery, this is a "must have", it fits the hip perfectly, very easy to put on, comfortable. This ice pack was worth every $$$, and will be used for all other areas of the body. It is designed for thee hip but i can see using it for should or back knee or leg, various uses.

Excellent for after hip replacement. Stays cold for required time. Heavy but wasn’t walking around with it so that was not an issue. When not in use back in the freezer and ready again quickly however never let it completely thaw so again no issue. Fits well with straps. Excellent for my needs
