The Kärcher SC4 is new on the market - so new in fact that it is tricky to buy spare floor pads for the main floor cleaner attachment - although they are available on Amazon Karcher Replacement Cloth but at 24 quid for two currently I may be making my own! BEWARE THESE CHEAPER VERSIONS ARE NOT COMPATIBLE Kärcher Set of 2 Premium Velour Micro-Fibre DON'T BUY THESE So to the machine itself. Early impressions are that this machine is up to the usual Kärcher standard. Heat up time is a respectable 4 minutes, and the refillable on the go water reservoir is a real plus, I also like that you can visually check how much water is left on this model. It can certainly put out some steam, the 3.2 bar pressure really making a difference over lesser models. I managed to turn my bathroom into a sauna in no time at all - but I was dealing with some stubborn lime scale! The tools supplied are good including the new floor tool which is claimed to be 35% more effective - but I have no idea why or how other than it channels the steam on several directions rather than coming out in one spot as per some of the cheaper steam mops I have owned. It is also supplied with a hand tool including detail nozzle, with one small nylon brush attachments. (Spares are available at around 10 quid for 4, or you may want to go for the wire version if you are dealing with moldy grout). Various other attachments (such as wall paper stripper and iron) are available if you feel so inclined. The machine is fairly light at 4kg, to the extent that I worry how it will stand up to heavy use, but I have had good experience of Kärcher previously and I would expect this to last. All in all this is a good machine, at the higher end of the steam cleaner product range, which means it isn't cheap, and for most people probably won't be their first steam cleaner. If it is your first time I would say jump right in, steam cleaning works and this model will not disappoint.
