EXCELLENT subject matter expert
First off, I have a Psychology degree (in addition to a GIS degree) and the writing has been (in my opinion) exhaustively researched. My guess is that it has also received some high level peer review. The book is written not as an academic tome but more as a Doctor's/Master's Thesis as it challenges all the current precepts of how Psychology is taught. This is a far better way of learning the subject than the 'bright' Psychology books. Here is what you need to know to be able to live and understand this screwed up world. The nice part is that it is the tools you can learn about are universal, so you can use them in China or Chicago, like Paul Ekman's excellent work.

Basic Psychology Used Selfishly and Unethically
This is a "How To Do It" book. The author describes how to use basic psychological techniques for selfish and unethical reasons. It is fairly detailed in how to execute basic psychology in selfish and unethical ways. I disagree with the author that these unethical methods will give anyone who reads this book the power to manipulate and control people. Virtually everything he explains would require years of learning and practice. There is so much material covered in the book that it becomes impractical for an individual to accomplish selfish and unethical use of psychology. That is not to say that some of the methods could not be learned and implemented but to master it as an art, well, I just don't think so.A good many of the methods described are easily visible in society and in no way may be utilized covertly or discreetly. These methods all exist in bad and abusive relationships and the extent to which they might be used on friends, co-workers, or the general population is suspect at best. People in relationships, and cults put up with these overt methods that is a fact, but friends, co-workers, or the general public? I seriously doubt it would be tolerated. It was an interesting read and several times you get the sense that the author is being somewhat sarcastic. "To do dark psychology you have to convince yourself that it is not wrong, bad, or evil to ruin people's lives so that you may live with the depravity to which you have sunk." Actually that was more of a paraphrase than a quote but it delivers the gist of the delivery. The book has a smooth, easy flow to it especially as read by the Audible narrator. The narrator was excellent and it was well worth the price to add the Audible narration to the book.

Dark And Straight Forward
The information in this book is great. It is up to the reader to decide what they want to employ or not, as your morals play a part in the person you choose to be.I would recommend reading if you want to understand more about psychology (and Jedi mind tricks), some of this is already natural surprisingly, though if you are looking to grow then I’d pick it up and see what you think and can learn.

A playbook for a sociopath!
Have you been fooled or taken advantage of by a sibling, a boss or a coworker, maybe even a neighbor? Well, it is likely that if the abuse was on-going that they were either a narcissist or a sociopath. This is their playbook. It talks about all the ways they twisted really, and using social influence and psychology to get what they want without treating you with respect, dignity, or as a human being.

Almost great!
Book arrived on time! Was in great condition! 4 star rating only because the book isn't as informative as I believe it should be, a book like this needs more applicable examples and more reasonable ones that a person would actually use. Still a great read though and I dl recommend this book to someone just learning this subject.
