Cobbler's Choice Leather Conditioner, Brush, and Polishing Cloth Kit

My favorite pair of $500 two-year old Italian leather shoes were trashed last winter when I walked through some snow in the city and the shoes absorbed sidewalk salt. They were covered in white salt stains and the leather got dry and hard and started to crack on the sides of the shoe. This was my last ditch effort to save the shoes. Sadly, it helped a little but did not work a miracle, so I will be throwing the shoes away. This comes with a kit including 6 oz. of liquid cream leather conditioner, a wooden brush for cleaning the dirt off the shoes before applying and a soft buffing rag to apply the cream. It's a bit pricey considering that it works okay. I think I'd rather just get the bottle of conditioner as most people who take care of their shoes already have a brush and buffing cloth. As my video shows, after applying a couple coats throughout the week and waiting for it to try, some of the salt stains went away. About half remained there and the side of the shoes with the leather cracking still showed those signs of wear and the leather was hard and not supple. Again, my shoes were basically trashed to begin with. On a pair of thick leather boots not damaged by lots of wear, sweat or salt, this might keep them softer and supple between wears. You do want to test it a bit first on a small area as the cream turned a small part of my shoes near the sole darker brown. Not a huge deal but if you want to be sure to keep your shoes in great shape, test first. Overall, I can't complain too much because I didn't expect much initially when using this due to the condition of the shoes being so rough. At $30, I did sort of hope for a miracle though. I likely wouldn't order this again ... for conditioning hiking boots or something, it might work better than dress shoes. I hope my video, before/after pictures and honest review after using the product over the last week were helpful to you in making a shopping decision.

I did a lot of reading before choosing to go with Cobbler’s Choice. I watched YouTube comparison videos, read up on quality of brands, etc. I wanted something very affordable with an excellent outcome because I am far from a pro.. In fact, this is the first time I’ve ever used leather conditioner on anything. Cobbler’s Choice delivered! I had a pair of Bussola boots which were at least 10 years old and had never been conditioned. I also had a Fossil purse which was also 10 years old never conditioned. (Don’t judge.) I applied the liquid conditioner using the provided microfiber cloth. It appears to be quite dark during application. As if it’s changing the color of the leather. But be encouraged, even if you’re liberal it’ll dry and not change the color of the leather. (My photos are the before and after.) Any darkening after 24 hours, in my opinion, was moreso the richness of the leather color revealed after 10 years of not being conditioned. I’m going to do another application but as it stands the initial first application was worth the purchase and both items look much improved!

I love Cobbler's Choice line of products! They just soften the leather like nothing else and with minimal natural ingredients. I love that the triple filtered Beeswax is the base of most of their products. It just does such a wonderful job on everything from lambskin gloves to goatskin laptop bags. I even bought one of those tiny little coin purses on vacation one time and found it lost and dried out in the bottom of a box almost a decade later. I thought I might have to throw it out but I pulled out my tin of Leather Cream and now it looks better than it did when I bought it!

Great brand and quality. I just had to purchase a black paste for my boots so I can polish off small scoffs and I was set. The conditioner itself does not have any bad smell, and it can be applied to the leather of any color. I have a few handbags that benefit from that! Shoe or jacket, or a handbag, it works on a large variety of leather items.
