i've been using this on my sphynx for several years, and have recently graduated to using it on my extremely allergic tabby.with respect to my sphynx, it's the only product i've found that leaves him "clean and sexy," as my husband calls it, with his 'coat' extremely clean and no excessive oil buildup afterward. in fact, since we started using it, we find he only needs a bath once every three weeks or so, instead of the weekly recommended (and every few days after using other products). i've been a fan of hylyt for years as a result of this.but the real boon is discovering, quite accidentally, that it was also a good solution for our sensitive tabby. he's always had sensitive skin with no suitable recommendations from the vet - chewing his fur off, scratching constantly. topicals that cost a fortune but did no good whatsoever.one day he got outside for a few minutes and the sphynx, upon the tabby's return, smelled 'stranger danger' and kept attacking him. after a few hours of trying to remind them that they were 'brothers' to no avail, just my sphynx going after him at every opportunity, we finally dunked BOTH into a bath to remove the "weird cat" smell. we didn't really think it would work, but we were desperate.not only did it solve the immediate problem, but we quickly realized... our tabby was no longer scratching incessantly. in fact, he stopped scratching for two or three weeks, until the next bath.now, 'bath day' is one they both dread, but which benefits both. we know best! :) i love this shampoo. the other reviews are spot on.

After purchasing a sphynx kitten I saw first hand what greasy skin feels like. Because they do not have hair, their skin gets a layer of grease that sticks to everything they touch; the walls, the bed, the couch, EVERYTHING! After a lot of research I stumbled upon a website community for Sphynx owners, and they recommended this shampoo for the cats. I purchased it, but ups lost my package. A week later, a refund of the shampoo, a free extra month of amazon prime, and free saturday delivery I received my shampoo and I am glad I waited.This shampoo is the same vets would recommend, except it does not come with the exam fee and vet hospital overhead pricing on top of the actual cost of the shampoo.It smells good and not too strong. It is mild enough to use on cats and since Sphynx need a bath once per week a mild yet effective shampoo is a plus. It does not dry his skin from excess baths, and it tames the greasy, it keeps the stinky paws smelling good (because sphynx have the worse smelling poop ever!) and it helps with dander, which helps with my allergies.Overall, this was a great purchase. I like the fact that I do not need to spend extra money with a vet visit in order to purchase this. I love the fact that it is mild enough for my cat to bathe once per week. I love the fact that I can enjoy a clean kitten allergy/grease/smell free!

I love this shampoo! My little long coated chihuahua has allergies and scratches a lot and I had been using a baby shampoo as instructed by the breeder but I felt it was not helping the situation. After looking at different videos and reading many reviews I decided to give HyLyt a try. So glad I did! My baby's coat is soft shiny and smells great. I noticed she doesn't scratch hardly at all and the need for bathing is not as often. This shampoo rinses out easily, smells a little like coconuts, and makes her coat fells so wonderful to the touch. She actually prances around more after a bath and doesn't mind taking a bath anymore. She seems to like the shampoo if there is such a thing and will let me wash her longer than she used to. The bottle says you can use it as often as needed but thanks to how thoroughly it cleans her coat I have cut down on baths which really helps keep the body oils she needs. I highly recommend this for any dog.

My vet recommended I use a soapless shampoo on my allergic dog after I remarked that after I give him a bath, he would "vacuum" the carpet with the side of his head. She had this shampoo on the product shelves in her waiting room so I decided to order it from Amazon. It was amazing! The first time I gave him a bath with the Hylyt shampoo, I didn't have to spend a long time rinsing out the suds from his coat and in a very short time, the water was clear of suds. There wasn't the heavy soap smell in the shower stall when I finished either. I dried him off and he and trotted out to the living room - no "vacuuming" of the carpet nor was there any paw-licking afterwards either! I also noticed that he hasn't had as many issues with his ears (periodically he had to go on medication for ear infections) since I switched to this shampoo. This does have a slight coconut smell but it didn't hang on for very long.

I used a sample on my itchy dog, and it seems to have helped. I am using it in combination with medications for itchiness and antibiotics, so I can't say for sure that the shampoo is solely responsible for the improvement, but I think it had a positive effect. Every year my dog gets so itchy, her life becomes miserable. Medicated shampoos don't help. My vet recommended this shampoo, but they were charging much more for it. I tried the sample and was happy with the results, so I decided to order it on amazon for less. It smells nice, unlike harsh medicated shampoos, and my dog's skin and coat look and feel much nicer than ever before after using it. She doesn't get as stinky as she used to when she goes out in the sun (she usually secretes a smelly skin oil when she is really hot and itchy), so I think it's really helped. I'm glad I bought this, and I think I will use it from now on, even when she is not itchy.
