Actually better than I expected

While I have been on a flu and Dayquil induced haze I wanted a clock. Since I live in a college down I hear the clock tower chime Westminster every single day; and I love it. So I wanted one of my own. However, most clock that chime tend to be of two sets: firstly, they have a ton of reviews but they are all bad reviews. Secondly, they look nice but there are no reviews. So, I decided to just bite the bullet, and buy this clock. It’s made out of hardwood and good quality at that. It has a very nice dark cherry stain and the glass is very clear and without any issue. The pendulum does not have a no swing setting. Which I was surprised to know people wanted in a clock that has a pendulum. Now the clock is much bigger than I anticipated at “39 inches” this may be because I am only 5’1’’ but the clock came in a large very well wrapped box and upon set up I noticed that it would require me to find a stud to hang it. Otherwise you risk damage to you, the clock and your wall. The tag to hang the clock is set away from the wall so you will need to have a longer nail or screw that you input into the stud to hang it from. The only drawback is that the chimes are recorded. They are not bad, but they are noticeably recorded. However for the money the clock is great. Because as long as I have hundreds of dollars worth of classes I can assure you I will not be dropping hundreds of dollars on a clock with real chimes. The clock does require 4 AA batteries: 2 for the clock itself; and 2 for the chimes. These are not included. I’ll update after a few months.

Out of the box it looked Great, very nice detail and we get quite a few comments on it. Only problem I have with it is the chime is off, give more chimes than should. I will change my review when I figure out how to fix. Otherwise it's an excellent piece.

The clock is beautiful. However, it is very difficult to hang on the wall. It is heavy and awkward and requires two people to manage. Also, the hanger hole on the back is inset on the sliding back door. You will need to buy special wall hangers that give you at least an inch clearance from the wall. I had to search for an appropriate hanger as you cannot use a normal picture hanger. And If you do not have a stud behind the drywall, you will need toggle/molly bolts to anchor the hanger to the wall to anchor properly. The only other thing that I am not thrilled about is that the chime sounds nothing like a normal grandfather clock Westminster chime, it is electronic sounding. I have a few other battery operated pendulum wall clocks that do sound more like my grandfather clock's chime. I ordered this one because it looks similar to my grandfather clock. That being said, it compliments my grandfather clock very well, I just have the volume turned down. It is a beautiful clock! The seller needs to put hanging specs in the description. I hunted the internet for a clock that fit my idea of an old family room clock. As soon as I saw this one I went for it and I am not disappointed. The overall look and functionality fits my needs exactly. A real bonus is that it it a beautiful clock and a perfect size for where I wanted to hang it. I am very pleased with this purchase.

First clock that came the pendulum did not work and the time was slow Returned for a replacement and second clock the hour hand was so loose it hung pointing toward the 6 o’clock position and obviously was loose. Never order again. Poor workmanship.
