Well-made poles at a reasonable price
I feel that these are well made trekking poles offered at a reasonable price. They are lightweight and fully adjustable to various heights. They also come with extra tips for use on snow- and ice-covered surfaces. They are on par with another pair of more expensive trekking poles from a different manufacturer that I keep in my car for walking in my local park. The Kinggear poles are for my use around my property of several acres. I noticed that some of the negative reviews concerning the Kinggear poles was that they bent or broke when heavy weight was applied to them. I would remind folks that these are lightweight, aluminum, adjustable poles. If users are looking for hiking poles that are more suited for holding a somewhat heavy weight when traversing steep inclines or declines, that they consider looking at sturdier, heavier wooden walking poles. These can be had in various lengths from 5 to 6 feet and would provide good solid weight bearing support. For regular walking/trekking usage, I feel that these are very adequate for the price.

Perfect for my walks
I love these King gear Nordic walking sticks/hiking poles. They are strong and sturdy. Easily adjustable and collapsible for travel if needed. I have arthritis in my hands and the grip is the right size and easy to hold. I only use one pole just to help me navigate walking trails and slight inclines. One pole works for my needs. I stop to take photos a lot and I get down to ground level to photograph botanicals and fungi. I don't want too many items to encumber me. I don't do heavy hiking up steep mountains or anything too strenuous but I do walk rocky trails and uneven ground, sometimes with small hills and slight gradient. I have arthritis and have had full joint replacements in both my knees and 1 hip, but I keep on moving. When walking on regular, flat ground I do not use a medical walking cane anymore as the joint replacements were a success and I worked hard with physical therapy. But, hiking through woodlands and state parks I need some kind of aid. The pole has made a big difference to my hike walks. I can go up or down a rocky incline and the pole helps me to keep steady and gives me a boost up inclines or steps. It helps stabilize me when navigating uneven ground and when going down hill. I feel more safe and confident when hiking that I'm not going to slip or lose balance. This was my initial reason for buying the poles. I have not used walking/hiking poles before so I don't have other brands to compare these KingGear ones to. For a first time user of any kind of hiking pole, I am very happy with these. They do exactly what I was hoping for and they do a great job. I would highly recommend these to anyone who hasn't used poles before and they just want to try something out.

Great intro to trekking poles
I’ve never used trekking poles, but I always seem to pick up a “walking stick” along the trail so I figured I’d give them a shot, then I got a small backpacking tent that uses a trekking pole to set up so that was the excuse I needed. I got these for the low price (in case I ended up hating them), the cork grip (instead of a rubber one) and the clamp system instead of a twist-lock. I’ve used these on a <10 mi overnight trip, so this review may update after a few more miles, but so far they’re everything I needed them to be. Super lightweight (can’t feel them on your pack or in your hand) and very sturdy! Once you adjust the length and snap the clamps down, they DO NOT budge. I like the cork grips, no matter how wet it is or how much you sweat they never get slippery or rub against your thumb (which I was worried about). My only complaint was with the wrist straps, they were starting to rub on the back of my hand a bit by the end of day 2, but I’m thinking that will subside once they get broken in a bit more. I’m really happy with these and I’m sure I’ll get lots of use out of them in the future, and most importantly for me, they work perfectly with my tent! Well worth the price.

Great for hiking
I love these sticks. Sturdy, well built, love the pink and itʻs retractable. Iʻm older now and as much as I feel like I donʻt need it, I do. Especially hiking an incline with lots of loose rocks. Itʻs worth the investment.

High-Performance Trekking Poles for High-Altitude Terrain
Field-tested on Volcán Acatenango, Guatemala at 3,976 meters above sea level. Used on dirt, volcanic ash, and rocky terrain, providing excellent stability and load distribution. High-quality materials, very durable, lightweight, and ergonomic, reducing fatigue during steep ascents. Outstanding performance in demanding, high-altitude conditions.

Extremely effective and excellent value.
I chose this pair because they telescope down and fit into a bag that is easily carried on my back when I’m on my way to trail heads by bike or motorcycle as well as providing quick and precise adjustment of length for different terrain. Using them immediately eliminated the nagging pains I’ve experienced for years in the hamstrings while ascending and knees and lower back when descending plus my balance was better, stride longer, and speed greater with less effort while still allowing for a good workout that now includes my upper body. These poles are terrific!
