Also excels as a blind spot mirror for automobiles.
This product was originally designed to be an automobile blind spot mirror, to be attached to the right-hand side of the interior rear view mirror. That's made clear by the packaging, which says as much, has a diagram of a car's blind spot and so forth. The original packaging's language is entirely Japanese, so it was intended by the designer (Napolex/Broadway) to be marketed in Japan.Apparently it didn't go over well as a Japanese blind car spot mirror, so several English stickers have been applied to the packaging, rebranding the item as the "iView Computer rear view mirror."All I know is I was actually LOOKING for a car blind spot mirror to apply to the right-hand side of my interior rear view mirror when I stumbled upon this item and so I was thrilled to find it. It was exactly what I was looking for - and apparently there are only a couple of other items made for such an application - and both of those looked very cheap. This is a well built product (as are all their products, apparently), it blends stylishly with my OEM mirror -- and it's working perfectly for me. Just peel off the paper to expose the adhesive, stick it to the back of the RHS of the interior rear view mirror. Then adjust it to get the best view. I was able to position it so that I can see out the entire rear window, all of the rear passenger window AND all of the passenger front window. And because it's close to the driver, it's a lot easier to see what's going on back there -- than it is using using the OEM external convex side view mirror. When I saw it for sale, I wasn't sure the mirror would orient correctly to accomplish being a blind spot mirror; the pictures of the actual product didn't exactly re-assure me that it would. But when I got it, saw it -- and saw that this was what it was actually designed to do, I knew I was good. This gizmo will interfere with flipping the sun visor all the way up to the AS1 line on the glass of the front windshield. But the visor can be flipped down to a pure vertical position without bumping it. Enough for the passenger to block out the sun. However in that position, the driver will not have view of the mirror, of course. This gizmo is being used to replace my CarMate PL114A WideAngle ModeratelyConvex ClipOn RearView Mirror . That product is excellent, but I am getting ready to install a new OEM-styled rear view mirror as part of a backup camera system (the monitor is built into the mirror), so the Carmate Clip-On has to go.One advantage of this switch is that I had to position the CarMate mirror so that I lost some visibility in the rear view window to accomplish visibility in the blind spot. Another advantage is that I had almost zero usage of the passenger visor when the CarMate was installed. It's an excellent product for this kind of application; give it serious consideration.UPDATE [2014-07-29]: I ended up having to remove the 3M sticky mounting tape. It couldn't take the summer heat and every day I would find the mirror laying on the floor mat. I replaced it with some REALLY sticky Velcro mounting tape. But even that isn't perfect. The heat makes the hooks and eyes pliable and the mirror will be sagging, though holding. I have to firm it all up again by hand before driving. There's probably a better, yet non-permanent solution, but I haven't divined it just yet.UPDATE [2014-09-20]: I ended up using a rubber band to keep the gizmo in place during the summer. Now that fall is almost here, I'll take the rubber band off - and rely on the the really sticky Velcro tape - until next summer. CarMate PL114A WideAngle ModeratelyConvex ClipOn RearView Mirror

Would recommend this product
Arrived on time. Works really well to see behind you at work. Would recommend this product. A little distortion with the view; to be expected because it’s very small. Recommended.

Wide view, not a lot of mounting flexibility and can't really be adjusted.
It works very well for what it's intended for, but the "gooseneck" is really nothing but a stiff cable wrapped in a loose rubber cover. This means that despite what's listed, the mirror can be turned only slightly up, down, tilted, or side to side when mounted as shown in the pictures, and only with a lot of effort. It cannot be rotated so the convex mirror is still horizontal despite being mounted to the top of a monitor. It can be mounted on either side of a monitor though. The pictures don't show, but there's a 1" x 1" pad with double sided tape that attaches to the back of your monitor with a slight lip on the outer edge to keep it flush with the edge of the monitor. If you're not planning to mount it exactly as pictured (or on the other side of the monitor but in the same way), or the back of your monitor isn't very nearly flat, find something else.
