How come the coffee is so weak?

Is the percolating coffee visible in the glass bulb at the top of the percolator?

It is not glass, but a hard acrylic and to the person who said it doesn't keep coffee warm they didn't read the simple instructions to show you how. After you pour the first cup put the pot back on the base and press the button. It will turn to blue and keep the coffee hot for 30 mins. There is no limit to how many times you can do this. I LOVE THIS PERCOLATOR.

I've used a disc filters for my percolator and no matter if I put 1 or 5 together the coffee grounds still end up in my coffee. What filter is best?

Just a couple thoughts. I do not use a filter and I do get just a bit of sediment at the bottom of the pot but no grounds. I do grind my own coffee at a coarser grind as the manufacturer recommends. I did try a store ground coffee and didn’t find any grounds in the coffee. We really do enjoy the coffee from this “old tech” coffee maker
