Surprisingly easy to use.
I was surprised at how effective these are and how easy they are to use with an Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W. I made a 3D printed cone to fit into a netcup space for hydroponics. When the water drops below the bottom of the netcup level the sensor triggers from wet to dry. Here is the CircuitPython code: # Minimum FS-IR02B Water Level Sensor Code import board import digitalio import time print("=== WATER LEVEL SENSOR - MINIMUM CODE ===") # Setup water level sensor on GP6 water_sensor = digitalio.DigitalInOut(board.GP6) water_sensor.direction = digitalio.Direction.INPUT water_sensor.pull = digitalio.Pull.UP print("Water level sensor ready on GP6") print("Hardware connections:") print("- VCC: Connect to 3V3 (Pin 36)") print("- GND: Connect to GND (Pin 38)") print("- Signal: Connect to GP6 (Pin 9)") print("") try: while True: # Read sensor (True = water present, False = no water) water_present = not water_sensor.value # Inverted logic if water_present: print("Water detected!") else: print("No water detected") time.sleep(1) # Check every second except KeyboardInterrupt: print("Stopped") except Exception as e: print("Error: " + str(e))

Awesome!
These work great, they output 5v when fully submerged which is great to trigger relay modules if you don't want to use a microcontroller.

Waterproof water level sensor
The sensor is sealed, you don't have to worry about drilling a tank or bucket if you don't want to. You can just hot glue it on the inside of a bucket or water tank if that is what you want to do and it will be fine. *You must be certain that the type of liquid will not damage the sensor. This sensor is plastic and is NOT for solvents like gasoline or acetone!* This light based water level sensor works great. I just tried it in R/O water and it works as expected. The quality of what I've got here looks good. I am not sure what the board is supposed to be for, perhaps this also makes it a replacement for something else. On Arduino, you can just digitalRead the sensor for a HIGH or LOW value with no board or other components involved. Seems to be highly responsive to its state change. Trivial to code and implement. A great product! *For higher accuracy, use AnalogRead on the sensor (which is 5v) to get a value from around 25-1050. They read very low, under 200 or usually less when wet in R/O water and usually over 1000 out of water. I use 500 as my threshold and it works great.

Works fine connected directly to arduino without capacitor.
Worked just fine wired directly to the Arduino without the capacitors (see attached photo). I didn't see any spurious readings due to noise in the serial monitor. Analog reads 984-985 when dry and 4-5 when wet. I removed one star because the circuit diagram is poorly drawn and just confusing. Otherwise should work fine to monitor the water level in my hydroponic reservoir. I haven't installed it yet so I will update this review if anything goes wrong.

No more stuck float! Plug and Play with Microcontroller, works in RO/pure water or tap water.
Power, Ground, Signal out and it provides a clean signal once water touches the point of the prism. Fast response, digital input catches level shift or ADC can be used for more precision. Excellent product and at a great price! I haven't tested in any other liquids, but performance matches that of other options needing additional hardware to use. Output is not enough to drive a relay, but likely could if put into a Schmidt trigger then to a transistor. This was a drop in replacement for a magnetic reed float switch, no software change needed!

OUTSTANDING VALUE
Very fast shipping !! And for someone living in teh arctic that's says a lot. The sensor worked very well, it is made of quality materials and is astonishingly easy to use. The kit comes with three sensors but the board only takes one of the sensors due to the connector types mounted on the board. Now, it does come with extra connectors that will fit the sensors, so I am going to see if I can modify the board to solder in the extra connectors included with the kit. I'm thinking that this board is used for many other types of sensors which have different types of connctors and the company includes the extras for setting the board up for three inputs. I am very happy with the product and plan to purchase more. Photos from left to right. Photo one no water board set. Photo two the sensore. Photo three the red LED is le=it indicating the sensore is in the water.

So so
Won't work in very clean water

These are analog sensors
Great little sensor, but be aware that you will need to connect this to an analog pin on your micro controller. I get a value anywhere from 0-4095, depending on how "submerged" the sensor is in water. Also helpful to know is the red wire is 3-5vdc, blue wire is ground, and yellow wire is the analog signal. You don't have to use the included board but it's nice for troubleshooting.

After a week, sensor work and not work .....

So I recovers my package today - only to find that none of these are 1.8 meters - 6 feet in length as mentioned item name and description. As you can see from the picture each one is just a bit over 1foot in length- so even all 3 don’t amount to 6 feet in length. I needed this for an auto top off system.
