Worth Every Penny - Lots of Important Info
So you love making soap and think you want to start a soap selling business? Start by reading this book. One of the first things stated is the difference between a business and a hobby business, tax-wise, as defined by the government. Here I learned that you may start out as a hobby and only after making over $400 a year, take more steps to incorporate or create an LLC.Everything is discussed here from insurance and liability issues to how to do craft shows and how to keep your books (those chapters are written by Chris King of Pampered Sisters). The book is upbeat but does not mislead the reader to think that running a business is all fun and games. I heard the message loud and clear that to run a profitable business a lot of time will be spend doing tasks that are anything else but making soap. Designing labels, packaging, promoting oneself then actually selling such as in person at craft shows is taught in this book.I highly recommend this book to all soapmakers and home-based cottage industry makers of other body care products. This is a thorough book, with the only thing missing being in the social media section, Pinterest was not mentioned, as it is a more recent popular website.I rate this book 5 stars = I Love It.

Highly Recomend!
A lot of good information, however the book is four years old now. With the way technology is progressing and social media, would like to see an updated version. Highly recommend if you're just getting started and don't know what to do.

Great Book Even if You Don't Make Soap!!
Mrs. Criswell's book has been a real inspiration for my wife and I as we started our own home based business. We aren't soap makers, but her insight is so helpful for anyone wanting to start a company that sells through trade shows, craft shows and on the internet. And on top of all that, it's a fun book to just read!!

Had a ton of good reviews so I thought there'd be some real insight ...
Really nothing you can't get from googling"soap business" or something along those lines. Had a ton of good reviews so I thought there'd be some real insight specific to soaping, but it's very generic. You could just as easily insert "chicken wings" into this book and you'd never notice the difference. This feels like someone copy and pasted a Business101 course that they found on a blog somewhere and sold it as their own work. Don't get suckered out of $6.48 like I did. You obviously have internet access if you're reading this so head on over to Google!

Save Your Money
I watched youtube, websites, etc... and made about 30 loafs of soap. I ordered this book about 2 years ago and just now read it. This Book really has no additional information that is not common sense. I was hoping it would have several cost effective recipes in it as well as wrapping advise, etc...The Good - It will provide a few resources etc... but anyone that has made a few dozen batches of soap most likely already know them. What is should be but is not - It should provide recipes that are very cost effective, show different wrapping techniques, etc...…The Bad - title is misleading, over priced for what it is: should be priced at 2.99 - 6.99
