Good Eye Drops for Chronic Dry Eye
Good Eye Drops for Chronic Dry Eye. I use these all during the day for dry eye "as needed" as the label says. I like that it doesn't have a time frame for uses and you can use as often as you need to.....some days eyes seem to be drier than others. Wish the price was a bit better, as I used to use the generic for these until they changed the formula and it was about $4 less per twin pack. Not a big deal but there it is. I agree with the other reviewer that these are just as good as Systane and maybe even better.Pros: Effective; Easy To Use; LightweightCons: ExpensiveI am a brand buyer for this particular product, because I wouldn't put anything into my EYES I didn't know and trust. Refresh Optive greatly increases my eye-comfort by relieving dryness. My ophthamologist encourages me to use it as needed, as often as needed. I generally use Refresh Optive at least twice a day, morning and night. I think this product is expensive, but I wouldn't consider buying a lower cost substitute.Works well for dry eyes –Cons: ExpensiveThis is an excellent product to use after eye surgery. My eyes are more sensitive after my cataract surgery. These drops soothe and the soothing lasts for quite a while. I have no problems with my eyes while using them. They are a bit expensive however.Recommended by my doctor. My opthalmologist recommends Refresh Optive products for me. I don't suffer from 'dry eye' as a disease; however, I frequently use my laptop computer at home. He said that sitting close to a computer screen can have a drying effect on the eyes but Optive, usually used right before and/or right after computer use, takes care of the problem and prevents any future dryness. So if you use computers a lot, definitely use drops - preferably Optive Refresh - they are a trusted brand.

Wish I'd known about this years ago
I have a common condition in older folks called "dry eye." Tears are produced just fine, but the glands that add a little fat to the tears become less efficient over time, and it is this fat that makes the tears protective and last longer. If you are constantly wiping away tears and you are not crying, or if you feel as if you have some foreign object in your eyes constantly - but can never find anything - you probably have "dry eye." Ordinary "artificial tears" do not have the lubricant in them, and so are of little help. In fact, if you use them a lot, you may be washing out some of what lubricant your own eyes actually produce. If your eyes feel scratchy and very dry, use a washcloth and very warm water as a compress first, then carefully wipe away any crusting or old tears, and apply a drop to the center of each eye. Blink this for a while and don't wipe your eyes again just then. In the beginning I needed to do this at least twice a day, but now normally only once. Re-apply the drops if you take a shower or use conventional drops to remove a foreign object or hair.I used to feel always as if I had "something in my eye," and it was even hard to focus at times. Now I seldom feel the effects of dry eye, and know instantly what needs to be done if I do.

Great Eye Drops
This is my first time using eye drops. I was recently diagnosed with Narrow Angle Glaucoma, and my Opthamologist recommended the Refresh brand only. I didn't realize there were So many types of eye drops out there. I have severe eye pain, and I get migraines in my left eye. I was in bed with severe pain in my eyes. I couldn't even move them without severe pain, and my eye drops came. I put the drops in my eyes and I felt some relief immediately. I was instructed to put the drops in every 2hrs while I'm awake, and it has definitely been helping. So far in the last 4 days since I've been using the drops, my eye pain has been under control and no migraines in my eye, which is pretty unusual for me. Thanks Refresh Optive for a Great product. My eyes thank you!! I definitely recommend this product, and I will continue to use it.

Lubricates well but wish they lasted longer
I purchased these Refresh brand lubricant eye drops for myself, as well as for my blind dog who has multiple ongoing eye complications. I trust the Refresh brand as I've used various formulas of their drops over the years and they have consistently provided excellent lubrication without any problems. These drops have been great for me to use on a daily basis. I use them once or twice a day. I wear disposable contacts and these drops work great with contacts, with no issues of being too sticky, or clouding up my lenses. As someone with occasional eye dryness but not chronic dry eye, these drops work great for me.That being said, I give these drops 4 stars and not 5 because I wish they lasted longer for my blind dog. They provide good lubrication, as I have experienced with my own eyes, but they do not last for several hours like I had hoped. Therefore, I assume that they aren't long lasting for my dog either. I will try the Refresh brand formula of gel drops or artificial tears next for him, in the hopes that that formula offers longer lasting lubrication.

Post-LASIK, Allergies
I had lasik in December, and was given several samples of drops to use a few times daily to ease the recovery process. My doctor mentioned as well that continual use of drops helps lessen regression-- as my prescription was terrible and brought back to 20/20, I certainly hope that's true! Optive was my favorite of the drops I was given, and this box of 2 15ml bottles is a great value compared to getting these drops at the eye clinic (free samples notwithstanding). I've been using them a few times in the evenings, when I start to notice my eyes are dry and my corneas are blurring up. Instant and lasting relief, and two months out from the procedure no regression yet!In addition, my husband has mild cat allergies. Since we got our tabby, he's started to use the drops once or twice an evening to help relieve his symptoms. He likes them enough to continue to do so daily even though he struggles a LOT with things coming near his eyes!
