Great soil to use for an amphibian terrarium
Much of the soil on the market is not ideal for amphibians because of the large amount of woodchips, or low moisture retention. In my opinion, this is the best soil I've used for my frogs and salamander. It holds moisture and also holds it's shape when creatures dig in it, which is important if you have amphibians. There are still some large woodchips, but few and far between.

Tropical Gecko Owner
I like the substrate it holds humidity pretty well in my tropcial gecko enclosures. Also, I didn't really have an issue with splinters, just a bit of substrate stuck to my hands after holding it. You need to rinse your hands off after using. Other than that, it's pretty nice. I can scoop poop out and it clumps, etc.

I needed sub-tropical soil....
Although this product is advertised for tropical habitats, I decided to try it in a starter tank for my baby fire skink who requires a sub-tropical environment. The soil needed to contain moisture and humidity, but the air did not. I mixed the 10 quart bag of Reptizoo and water with one expanded brick of coconut fiber and a bunch of damp spaghnum moss and it was enough to fill a 20 gallon long tank (12x12x30) with about 4 inches of substrate. I burrowed out the hide, which is holding up well, so that the under tank heat pad would penetrate through the soil. With some additional moss and leaf litter scattered across the top and misting twice daily, the soil stays moist and crumbly but not wet. It doesn't need a drainage layer but still keeps ground humidity at higher levels while the air sits at around 30% consistently. My medium light plants who prefer their soil on the dry side seem to be doing well. The little skink seems happy with his habitat as it meets his requirements so I will likely buy this soil again in larger quantities and repeat the process when I move him to a 50 gallon enclosure. Then I will build it into a naturalistic, self sustaining bio-active environment by also adding the appropriate micro flora and fauna which will make this soil last for a very long time.

Make sure to keep moist
I brought this for my Leo and so far I've gotten no issues. My Leo absolutely loves it, and usually digs in it. It's very easy to clean and it doesn't make those dark spots. The bag is easy to store without having to worry about it when ever you need it. For the price, it's actually a pretty good value. The texture of it is soft, all you have to do is make sure that you water it a bit, to keep the terrinum humid and make sure the soil doesn't dry out.

Great for most reptiles
I mix reptisoil with playsand or eco earth (depending on the species) and it works well. It can get dusty by itself so it's best used in combination with other materials. I mainly use it for my bearded dragons, leopard geckos, blue tongue skinks, and some of my other species that like digging.

Always use for my reptiles
I love this brand. It doesn't have a bad smell or any major sticks or rocks that could harm your reptiles. It's easy to use and my geckos love it. Definitely worth the money especially if you have a bioactive tank!

This soil mix works very well for bioactive terrariums. I ordered it based on strong recommendations from the reptile community and have had no issues so far.

Produit dangereux. Comme cela a déjà été signalé sur une évaluation Anglophone, vous allez recevoir une "New & improved formula: Now with more humus".
