Excellent adapter for the OTDR
These were purchased to install on an OTDR. Someone within our organization decided to purchase OTRDs with SC/UPC "Blue" connectors. Our pre-made test cables and launch reels all have SC/APC "green" connectors. The techs were complaining of failure to launch errors and high reflectance issues. Upon further investigation in the field I found that they were mating the blue to green connectors, I couldn't believe it! So I purchased A pack of these to test. First I inspected the internal (APC) side and most has debris, but no damage. These were easily cleaned with 2.5um stick. Then I inspected the external (UPC) side and found that they all passed without needing to be cleaning. Finally, I performed a loss test and found all to be <.40dB. You do need to push in pretty good to get a click and ensure that the connector is properly seated. Don't forget to inspect - clean - inspect - then connect. This will solve most of your problems!

Needed to convert from APC to UPC
worked great. My media converters were for SC UPC connections. The co. that installed the fiber used SC APC connectors. I used these to make the connections work. The media converters are rated at 1G. After install I tested and got 1G throughput. Happy.
