So easy to use and apply. Product is very forgiving. I got a ready-to-finish solid para wood dining table from Home Depot. Used stain in “hazelnut” which I am so pleased with. One 20ml bottle was JUST enough to do this entire 36 inch table but I did use every last drop. My little table sparks joy every time I look at it.

We've tested a number of Rubio products and are impressed with all of them. They're foolproof and totally safe for our family. The Monocoat seems bet suited to use on previously unfinished hardwood furniture, and does not work well on plywood. The coverage is pretty good, though I've found it doesn't go quite as far as the manufacturer indicates. Easy to apply with just a standard staining pad - one for application and one for wiping off. Make sure to sand to a smooth finish and you will see sanding marks after application if not sanded well (but this is true of most finishes).It definitely works best when mixed with Part B as it takes a long time to cure otherwise. You can purchase the Part B Accelerator together with the color or purchase smaller quantities of the Part A and Part B separately. It is so so easy to apply, hardly has any smell, and washes off with water. The finish is not glossy at all, but it feels like it really protects the wood.I discovered it specifically when looking for a completely non-toxic, no VOC product to finish a bookshelf in our baby's bedroom. I feel totally confident that it's safe for my family and couldn't be happier with the results. We've used it on both projects that get heavy use and are rarely touched and the finish holds up well under all circumstances.For exterior applications they also have Exterior Hybrid Wood Protector. The Look IPE color in this product seems fairly similar to the Ice Brown in the Monocoat. The Exterior Hybrid Wood Protector is equally awesome and easy. We used it on two unfinished exterior doors and even some interior furniture that gets heavier use (i.e. kitchen table and desk).

I prefer using my own combination of oils and other finishes but every now and then I buy Rubio for the ease of use and fast setup.I prefer the pure which brings out the darker but natural side of the wood I use it on.

We bought a butcher block from a local home improvement store with the purpose of converting it into a desk and some shelves. We created legs and needed to stain them as close to the color of the butcher block and we found this product.It was a little on the spendy side especially since my husband had to purchase additional products to speed up the curing time but the color match was spot on.

This product is my new go to for stain! I LOVE the way the product smells and the application process is simple and effortless. I was able to do the door trim and baseboards with one small bottle. I used on pine trim and it took it very well.

Perhaps one star is unfair since I suppose this product is really great for new raw wood. Maybe without the stain it's also an excellent wax. But I wanted a dark finish and was thrilled that I found a food-safe stain to use (walnut). I followed all the instructions to the letter. I sanded the butcher block to the raw wood; I vacuumed all the dust and then cleaned it with mineral spirits and lint-free cloths and waited 24 hours for it to dry; I bought the Rubio Monocoat applicator pads, and I watched the videos on application. Then I applied it to the butcher block. The only thing I may have done wrong was not use a fine enough grit sandpaper for the last sanding (I used 180).It was a total hot mess. Every tiny blemish (unseen to the eye when sanded) turned black. In effect, the stain did not act like a regular stain. Instead of covering or minimizing flaws, it brought them out by turning them black. It looked purely horrible and was impossible to repair without getting out the sanders again, which I couldn't do at that point. My grievance with Rubio Monocoat was that they do not warn of this issue on the website. If there was such a warning, I wouldn't have used the product as I knew the butcher block I was trying to restore had multiple problems. So $40+ wasted (product + pads) and so much time and effort and all because there was not enough information about the product available.If you use the 2C with color, make sure you test a small section first, and if you don't like it, get it off fast since it bonds within minutes.

Tried it. If you are wanting a stain this is not it. It is more like a paint. Candle see wood through it.
