It tastes like weak Brown Rice Tea. I like it. I take a medication that makes me extremely tired. This tea helps me counteract that.

I didn’t realize when I ordered the KUBO HIGH ENERGY CAFFEINE BLEND TEA that it was also a Reishi Mushroom tea. I know my sister and another friend are always touting the benefits of Reishi, but I haven’t paid that much attention. More than one respected medical website calls it a “bitter tasting fungus with no proven health benefits. Not exactly a ringing endorsement. I was looking for an alternative to coffee. This Kubo tea has as much caffeine as a cup of coffee so it was a good alternative. I have drank it twice now and-it tastes a bit like an earthy black tea. That means it tastes okay, but not great. A little milk and sugar fixes it right up though. The caffeine gave me a pretty good lift and left me feeling wide awake and energetic after a single cup. After a couple hours I felt a little woozy and although it happened both times I drank the tea, I am not certain the tea is the reason. I am susceptible to some medications and certain ingredients in food. I can never be sure what triggers the dizziness or nausea. Caffeine in amounts more than I’m used to can also make me woozy. I will probably try this tea, which comes in a pack of 20 tea bags, a third time to determine if it is the cause of my wooziness. I would not expect anyone who doesn’t normally experience dizzy spells to have a similar reaction. After writing the above paragraph, I took a few minutes to look into Reishi Mushrooms. A known side effect is dizziness and nausea. I suggest you do your own research. It makes me think my wooziness was indeed caused by the tea. More specifically, the Reishi Mushrooms in the tea. I now think twice was enough for me. You’ll want to brush your teeth right after drinking this because it is dark enough to cause a little discoloration, just like coffee and red wine.
