Excellent product and well done by the actors, also a true story.

I love these old movies. What a good message in them about real life situations. And the good outcome that comes from the story. Certain movies I can watch over and over. Love seeing these actors in their younger days too. Great acting.

The triumph of love – that’s what “Gracie’s Choice” is about, and, yes, it is about the triumph of the human spirit, too. It’s a feel-good movie, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Gracie, the oldest of five siblings with five different fathers, is determined to do whatever it takes to protect and provide a stable home for those siblings. Anne Heche, who has never impressed me with her acting, impressed me. She was excellently despicable as the appallingly narcissistic mother of the five kids. Diane Ladd does well as the grandmother who cannot say no to her wayward daughter, even though her daughter has never lived up to even one of her promises. The true star of the movie is Kristen Bell who plays the true star of the actual story, Gracie, whose love for her siblings overrides every other aspect of her life, even her own love interest. It’s a sad and, in places, disturbing story. I wonder if the true-to-life family faced as much trouble and lack of concern from the care workers as was shown in the movie. I suspect that it was for effect as we all believe the authorities are louses, which is not true. I was a foster parent for some years in two different states, and I know first-hand that the case workers try very hard to keep families together. It’s easy to recommend this movie.

Tough story about a family with a derelict, addict mother who leaves her oldest daughter to shoulder the burden of raising the family. The acting is excellent as are the characters, and the movie is so well done it comes across as being very real. Definitely worth watching.

First, I'm a little disgusted by the 1-3 star reviewers all I have to say for that is Wow!This is one of the best and worst movies I've ever seen. It was absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. It's so sad to know that kids live this life and much worse. There's things that weren't shown but said so we didn't even see the really really bad partsWhat a remarkable girl, because that's what she was, to sacrifice so much.There's things in there that are inappropriate and scary for kids but I think teenagers can grasp what's going on but would be important, for a lack of better word, for them to know about/to see/to be aware of. All sad, horrible things but we can't be ignorant .(Abuse, rape, lives of others, sacrifice, drugs)There's talk of sex but nothing seen, some minor cussing, scary scenes of abuse and running from cops,etcVery eye opening.

Ah, Lifetime. Every man's kryptonite. Normally, I'd never, ever, admit to watching, much less purchasing, something with Lifetime's name on it. Then I found out Kristen Bell was in one of their original movies.Gracie's Choice follows, here's a shocker, Gracie Thompson. Gracie is a sixteen year old--or seventeen, there's some grey areas--whose mom is a drug addict who swears, everytime she's busted, that she's never doing it again. Her grandmother still believes her daughter (Gracie's mom) can change so she gives her chance after chance. And we can't forget Gracie's three brothers and sister, all of which have different dads. Due to turbulent times, and not wanting her family--well, the kids at least--to go through what she did, Gracie decides to do something about it. Balancing school, a job, and having three brothers depend solely on her, can she handle it?There's nothing new to this movie. Once you see Lifetime's name plastered on the cover you know that there's going to be a woman abused (Gracie gets hit by one of her mother's many different boyfriends), and a heartwarming ending that you know is coming, but it still makes you smile. Even with this being a true story, there's other movies based on true stories exactly like this, and a majority of those are probably made by Lifetime at that. All that being said, Gracie's Choice is great.It's easily admitted that Kristen Bell is the reason this movie is so good. She, singlehandedly, makes anything she's in watchable (just look at the godawful Roman). Diane Ladd as Gracie's grandma has a noteworthy performance as well. Anne Heche is good, but she tends to overact in a few parts throughout this film. Then you have the obligatory children. I'm not a huge fan of kids playing big parts in movies and while this movie only proves my reasoning, they do their job.Guys won't watch this movie, plain and simple. Unless you're a huge fan of Kristen Bell, such as myself, guys probably will never know this movie has even been made. So, if you're a woman in search of a feel good movie, Gracie's Choice is right up your alley.

This is an old movie (Released in 2004) which premiered on Lifetime first now available on Amazon Prime Video streaming. The movie is present in 4:3 standard aspect ratio which dates that era in television but the streaming quality is relatively good. Movie features Kristen Bell (who was 17 back then) when it was released played the role of Gracie, a 16-year-old girl who has to endure a lot of difficulty as her mother is destined to ruin herself and her family.Gracie decides early in her age to keep her family stable and away from their mother's straying behaviors and that she must petition to adopt her 3 brothers in court. This is story of hardships, story of love and relationships. Kristen Bell clearly shows her talent in this movie and her acting along with the rest of the cast makes this a nice movie with feel good ending.Rating the movie with five stars!

Over all great product value

Unquestionably, this is one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. Gracie, a daughter of the family in question, is a member of the family, who are all having a bit of a hard time with life. Gracie's love, respect and caring attitude for her brothers and sisters was greater than that of her older sister. With their mother ill and unable to adequately care for them and her older sister a worthless tramp and not helping in any way.There came a time when their mother was on her death bed in hospital and Gracie, with her supreme love for her younger brothers and sisters decided that she would become their "Mother" and take care of them. Fighting a successful battle in court with her worthless sister, who also "desperately" wanted to care for the children too. But her pathetic opposition in the court, to her sister Gracie's application, fell on deaf ears with the judge. Gracie was awarded full custody of and became the Mother to her younger family members. Buy and watch this movie and I'm sure you will secretly thank me for enticing you to buy this wonderful movie.

Bon évidemment, le DVD est en anglais, donc il faut l'acheter si vous comprenez.Mais sinon, c'est un réel plaisir de revoir les aventures de Gracie, toujours aussi émouvant, très bien réalisé.Un très bon film !! = D

It Came very early i am very happy i can't wait to watch it thank you so much

I looked at this movie and thought it may be a bit of a chick flick! but when people say don't judge a book by its covers - its good advice! This story was heart-warming and even terk-jerking! Kristen Bell did an amazing job at playing Gracie and this film shows that anyone can do anything as long as they set there minds to it!! I recommend this film *****
