YEY Floppy Disk Reader USB 3.5-inch FDD 1.44 MB Portable for PC Laptops Windows/XP/7/8/10/11 Plug and Play

Most computers today don't have 3 1/2 inch floppy disc drives anymore. I have a lot of old pictures on a bunch of these discs so this drive that connects by a USB plug was the perfect thing I needed and it works great.

Worked perfectly on my laptop. I didn’t run games off of it but was able to retrieve photos stored on 3.5” floppy’s.

This review is for the YEY Floppy Disk Reader External Floppy Disk Reader USB 3.5-inch USB Floppy Disk Reader 1.44 MB FDD Portable Floppy Disk for PC Laptops Windows/XP/7/8/10/11 Plug and Play .... It works perfectly with Linux, just look for it under /dev/sd(x) ... I was able to use it to secure erase a couple of very old floppy drives. Very happy with the purchase. Usually when they say it works for older windows, it should work with Linux. In this case, Fedora Core, but will work with almost any new distro of Linux you find.

Works great on new floppy disk. However it could read older floppy disk maybe once but not able to copy the data on older floppy disk to your computer. Some floppy disk it could not read at all. Not totaly sure if the drive had a problem with older disk

It works! For a floppy disk, it’s pretty fast too!!

I bought two of these hoping to work on some data transfers. And after reading a disc or two each of them stopped working one even stopped registering as a drive on Windows 11. Don't know what to say about this as others have already mirrored these responses. I ended up buying a couple of imation disk drives that are 15 plus years old off of eBay and those are working just fine

Works well, affordable. USB c adapter is a nice touch so it works on my macbook.

Had some old floppy disks for years and wondered what was on them. They didnt all read but this may be due to the age of the disks or not as the case may be.
