Kuhn Rikon Piranha Y Peeler with Serrated Stainless Steel Blade, Green, 6.25 inches

My Oxo peeler was my go-to standard because it has an ergonomic handle that makes it easy to hold. I've owned lots of peelers in my lifetime, and it cut as well as any other. I just assumed that peeling anything was one of those chores that one had to go through to get to the fun part of cooking. Then I met the Piranha, which I ordered after reading a review in one of my cooking magazines.Wow! That was my first reaction. The only thing that would make this better is if the peeler did the job without me. It shaves cheese and chocolate and strips the peel off fruits and vegetables (including squash) with ease and very little effort. I now realize the problem with every other peeler I've had is that they're just not sharp enough, requiring much more force than necessary.Oh, and I did worry about the handle, which is much narrower than my Oxo's. I've cooked (and baked) professionally, and ended up with a bit of arthritis, so a larger handle always made sense. But this works beautifully, precisely because it requires so little force to use it. Yes, I'm now in peeling/paring heaven and I'll never go back! I also purchased this for family members and they're just as happy as I am. And the colors are vibrant and fun.

I truly hate peeling veggies, so I was blown away by how good it feels to use this thing. It's lightweight but the handle feels sturdy, and the blade is fantastic, it peels smoothly and quickly. It's so much faster using this compared to the vertical peelers I've despised my whole life. Plus the price is fantastic. Strongly recommend this thing.

After reading reviews for the carbon steel version I opted for the stainless blade. Super sharp. Zipped right through a cucumber. Feels comfy in the hand too. Should have bought the three pack and given two as gifts.

I have had a simple vegetable peeler, the same one, for probably over 25 years, and it's still going strong. I truly did not think I could find another one I would like, since I've already thrown away or given away so many over the years that did NOT do a good job, or were hard to use. But this one is simply fantastic. I had seen some great reviews on other sites about it, but really did not believe them. But they were absolutely correct...this one is so easy to hold, easy to use, and makes peeling carrots, apples and potatoes so easy to do. I highly recommend this peeler!
