The overall design of this anchor works well. When you drive screw into it, it very effectively pulls the four "legs" up snug to the back of the drywall. The solid collar portion is about the same depth as standard 1/2' drywall, so the legs are completely on the back side. They're much better than the ones that typically come with most items' mounting packets. It'll take me a long time to use up this 100-piece box. I wish it were an assortment of sizes...maybe 50 of these medium-sized anchors and 25 each of the small and large ones. But you can't go wrong having lots of quality anchors on hand for whenever you need them.

I have tried so many types of fasteners for drywalls but have not found one that is simple to use and holds properly without pulling out. The screw in plastic or metal fasteners are prone to ripping out. Toggle bolts require excessively large holes which are difficult to repair and limit the type of fastener. The Fischer drywall plug compresses the back part, which expands to form a 'mushroom' when the screw is tightened. I used these plugs to mount a 2x4 panel light with metal frame to the ceiling. The plug requires a 10mm hole which forms a tight fit when the plug is pressed in. It took me 15 minutes to drill 8 holes in the ceiling and mount the 4' brackets to the ceiling with self tapping screws. There is no play and the bracket pulled tightly against the ceiling with almost no gap in between. The flange on the plug which is visible when the plug is pressed into the wall is around 1mm thick which allows brackets and strips to fit almost flush against the wall. Overall a great product which I will be using next for mounting curtain rod brackets!

This style of anchor is very common, but if you want to see where fischer dominates, then look at the fischer DuoPower wall anchor. With Amazon Vine, us reviewers do not get name brands very often, but when I saw this fischer wall anchor on vine, my jaw dropped. I had to do a quick check to make sure it was not an imitation. fischer wall anchors are German designed, and the best I have ever found. This is a great brand, and I would recommend checking out their Amazon store. Look for the DuoPower which are made out of 2 different plastics, one is hard and the other soft so it deforms to match the drywall, or the "substrate" as the Germans call it.
