I will be honest, I only bought this mandoline slicer to make homemade potato chips, but I could definitely see myself using this for other things like when I'm fermenting veggies. The blade itself is EXTREMELY sharp, so I am very happy they included gloves. The gloves are awesome! I don't have to be super fearful of slicing a big chunk of skin off. It's quite compact too, as the leg folds up and under. I like that I can slide this into my cabinet and it's always out of the way. I highly recommend.

I would LOvE to learn how to work this, but the manual is almost worthless.

I bought this to replace one of those plastic kinds that come with a bazillion little blades you have to keep track of. This thing is ingenious in its construction. No parts to lose. Sharp AF! (Please wear the no-cut glove while using. I learned the hard way.) Makes beautiful, even slices. Very easy to store. A little more expensive than the plastic jobs, but well worth it.

very happy with purchase. I had a Cuisenart and it was triple the cost and no different in quality. I would recommend.

works ok but blade is not as sharp as i expected.. slicing potatoes, onions, cucumbers, and sturdy veggies like that all work fine but lots of squished tomatoes hitting the blade and not actually cutting through. a little disappointing

Don't use the gloves that come with the slicer. They are pour quality and dangerous. I already had a pair of really good protective gloves so used those. The mandolin is sharp. They waffle blade isn't sharp enough though.
