Works like a compass should and can be used in conjunction with a map. Taught my grandson how to use a compass and that was the main reason for my purchase. Pleased with it.

I used these compasses to teach a small group of children orienteering. They had all of the necessary details to easily explain how to use a compass.

They work alright. Probably better ones you could get but for the money they are alright.

They don’t work. The will not show true north very disappointed will be returning them.

The media could not be loaded. I use this while kayaking to keep an eye on the wind direction and to help navigate to my destination.I like that it's transparent so you can place it on a chart. It's lightweight and small enough to fit in your pocket but also heavy duty and seems to be splash proof as I've gotten it wet and it's still working.

I set up a little orienteering course for the grandkids at the family reunion, with little prizes at the destination. I gave each of them their own compass to keep, and taught them how to use it. It was a lot of fun and they really enjoyed it!
