Worth Every Penny!
This Sediment Buster is a must have when you drain your water heater - ESPECIALLY after having your well worked on! I just recently had my well worked on and it caused all sorts of water clarity problems due to the turbulence the work created. After two weeks of "waiting" for the water to totally clear up I tackled the task of draining my water heater. I could not believe how much crud had settled there - in fact when I first opened the valve a glob of mud came out and then clogged! Luckily I had my Sediment Buster attached and a quick spurt of compressed air and the water was draining again! I kept using my air compressor periodically during the entire draining process. After refilling the tank is did a short drain and my water was all clear! The Sediment Buster worked perfectly. Some users say theirs leaked leak but the only water I noticed is where I expected it to happen - at the air valve when you remove the compressed air, because a little water is going to seep out when you remove the air connection before that valve closes again. I am thoroughly impressed and 100% pleased with the Sediment Buster and how easy it was to use and its durability. Well made and so easy to use.

Highly Recommended
Worked just as advertised. I followed Sediment Buster's instructions and it worked flawlessly. Because my water heater has not been drained since it was installed in June 2024, I elected to follow the 'drain instructions' vs just flushing it. I used an air compressor set at 45 psi and injected air many times during the draining process...worked well and was easy. I monitored the sediment by having the water heater drain through and old screen, and surprisingly, there was not much sediment. Living in San Antonio, we have hard water so I expected more. Regardless, I highly recommend this tool for all DIYer's.

A Solid Do-It-Yourself Product
A good product - the directions were easy to follow and it worked as advertised. While I didn’t get the massive amount of junk flowing from my hot water heater, it obviously cleared it out.

Sediment buster tool
Worked well ad helped with quick drain of a bad water heater. it does break up some sediment but more blows a hole in it so the water can drain quicker. IT DOES WORK , but not sure how really well it works at breaking up the complete sediment cake at the bottom of an older heater.

This tool had one job and it performed it perfectly!
So, this little thing actually does what it says it is going to do! Life got away from me, and I was late getting my water heater flushed. When I did get to it, the flow was a slow trickle, so I knew there was sediment blocking the entrance. I knew i needed something to clear it, but I didn't want to stick something in and risk damaging the drain valve, and I really didn't want to have to call a plumber for this. So I went online, looking for a handheld thing I could use to inject water into the system to stir things up, and YouTube took me to what turned out to be a great explanation of how water heaters work and how flushing them works, and THEN the presenter said that when the water wouldn't flow, they had a great tool to correct the situation. It hadn't even occurred to me to use air for this, but the science and safety of using air is spot-on! I came here to look for it, and bought it right away! It came quickly, and absolutely did what it was supposed to do! The instructions are very clear and thorough, so make sure to read them, especially the part about making sure the water is 100 degrees F or below before letting it run through the Sediment Buster because it is plastic and will melt! It was extremely easy to install and use. I must have had some big chunks in there, because it took me a few more cycles than the instructions said it would, but it allowed me to stir up the sediment enough in the tank to be able to get the water flowing again. So, be patient and don't give up if water doesn't immediately flow! Remember, too, when you are using it that you are introducing air into the lines, so make sure to run hot water in all your faucets after you are done, because otherwise you might hear clanking in the pipes later that day, and water is supposed to be quiet! I'm excited to take this over to my step-daughters house to help her flush her water heater, too. The construction is simple and it feels well-made, so I feel like this will be in my tool box for a long time, ready whenever I need it! I almost never write reviews, but this simple connector is exactly the right tool for this job, and I'm so excited about it that I wanted to let other people know that it really works, because you never know when things seem like they could be too good to be true! This is exactly what I hoped it would be!

Works well if you need it
If you have an old nasty water heater and you want to knock the sediment from the bottom loose and drain it, this is a great help. However, you may not need this. You can probably break loose sediment by turning on your cold water when the heater is mostly empty. But it does work - you can use a compressor or any air inflator to push air into your heater to dislodge sediment. I think this would be a necessity for a heater that has a heavy sediment accumulation. An added benefit for all maintenance scenarios is the clear window that allows you to see how dirty the water is as it comes out. It's well-made, not cheap junk - though plastic, it is high quality and should last a long time.
