NEO 01310 AIAIAI TMA-2 - C10 Cable Red (1.5m Coiled)

Does what it is supposed to do ;)

This is my first coiled cable and the quality is nice. The color reminds me of the Yung Guru TMA-2s, still slightly different but very nice. I don't have the Young Gurus but I do have the H05, S04, and E05s. My favorite thing about this coiled cable over a straight one is that when I bump or tug over a table or doorknob, I don't get caught or stuck. I use the H05 wireless headband however when I run out battery I immediately switch to these.

I like the AIAIAI modular headphones a LOT (now I've built 2 complete sets), but my biggest gripe is with the cables. When I purchased my first set of AIAIAI parts, I decided to not purchase a cable and just use one of the many 3.5mm (1/8") cables I have lying around the house. Y'know, a typical aux cable. What isn't made clear from their website is that the cables have a proprietary locking connector on the headphone end. Meaning if you don't have a real AIAIAI cable, it just won't fit. Gotta buy their expensive cables... Most "locking" 3.5 mm cables have a screw-in type of connector. Like you see on the OTHER end of the AIAIAI cables. Usually (and on this model) this is for securely connecting a 1/4" plug adapter. But for whatever reason (probably because their profit margin on cables), AIAIAI has decided on a different twist-in connector on the other end of the cable. Different from that screw-in kind you see on other brands. What this also means is unless someone figures out exactly what the twist-in AIAIAI port looks like, no one will ever 3D print 3rd party, custom speaker enclosures for the AIAIAI modular headphones, since the connector is used by the headband plugs as well. IMO this is the biggest flaw with the TMA-2s :( Tl;dr: this cable works well and is high quality, but expensive. And you must spend the $$$ on a genuine AIAIAI cable because of the proprietary twist-in connector on the AIAIAI speakers.

It's a nice looking red cable. Unfortunately I have the old TMA-1's which are known to have weak bands. Mine snapped in half right after ordering this cable. Giving the cable 4 stars because it's fine, but the price is not a good value.
