Our Baby Loves It!
After our Australian Shepherd mix outgrew her puppy food, we were looking for an adult food suitable for our sweet girl. With our previous (now passed over the Rainbow Bridge and dearly missed) dogs, we had used Science Diet and Blue Buffalo brands. On Science Diet, our 2 large dogs (both mixes) lived to 14, but stools were really large and often rather loose. The next 2 dogs we had (also large mixes of different breeds, not related to one another) we fed Blue Buffalo Wilderness, which we will not use again as both of these dogs had to be put down at 12 years of age due to liver cancer. Maybe a coincidence, but we won't feed that brand of dog food ever again.I remembered that one of our rescue dogs had originally arrived with AvoDerm from his foster, and his coat was SO shiny when he arrived! For convenience, we had changed him to the Blue Buffalo our other dog was eating at the time.So when it came time to pick an adult food for our newest baby, we decided to try AvoDerm. I'm glad we did. She LOVES it. Her stools are small, so not a lot of filler in the food. She never has constipation or diarrhea. Her coat is AMAZING and we get compliments every time we walk her. She has absolutely no skin problems.Of course, we won't know for a long time how healthy she stays in the long run, but I am hopeful that AvoDerm was and is a good choice for our little girl.

GREAT for our great pyr and my service dog
We rotate feeding Avoderm, Wellness, and Royal Canin to our great pyr and red heeler. My german shepherd/husky service dog gets mostly Acana that we occasionally mix 50-50 with Avoderm. While none of them are too happy to eat only Avoderm more than 3 months straight (they only seem ok with eating Royal Canin as a forever/only diet, but they don't get excited about it), they absolutely LOVE having a bag of Avoderm every so often. If they haven't eaten it for awhile they whine for it when we get a new bag. The effect on their coat/skin health is AMAZING. My service dog gets so shiny I'm nearly blinded by her coat and everyone comments on how shiny and beautiful she is when she is eating Avoderm. The Acana keeps her shiny, sure, but not Avoderm shiny. Our great pyr has very sensitive skin but she just glows with happiness and stops itching when she has her Avoderm. All in all, I find Avoderm is best used 50/50 with another food unless we are fixing a skin issue. Avoderm makes even their stiffest, roughest, old dog hair puppy ear soft, which makes for the best cuddles ever.

Good for skin issues.
We’ve been using this dog food for five or six years. We have a seven year old Doberman. He loves this food. He was having some skin issues when he was around two years old(flaky skin can be typical for dobes), but he has not had any issues with his skin on this dog food, and his coat is really nice. The pic is from 4 years ago. He gets excited when the big box arrives!

I'm sure this is great for my dog, but...
I've been feeding my chocolate Labrador Retriever Avoderm chicken and rice for Adults for a couple of years now. His coat really glows with this dogfood and he feels great, so I'm not unhappy with the results. It also stopped all his 'itching' and allergies. But in the meantime he has developed serious joint problems with his front legs and my husband and I decided to try the specialty version of Avodern for large breed dogs with the additional Omega 3s, chondroiton, and glucosamine. Though our dog loves the flavor, the side affect is a very 'gassy' behavior. I'm not talking an occasional release, but constant, and the smell is so bad it runs both my husband and myself out of the room (and sometimes out of the house--he's a biiiig dog). There's no amount of 'health benefits' worth this kind of negative odor, not to mention if it smells that bad how can it be doing anything good for the dog. So we went back to the original Adult version, and what a blessing as now we can all breathe a pleasurable sigh without gagging.

Not good for their GI tract
My 2 young English setter pups would barely eat it. I had to add chicken broth rice or pasta and they have had diarrhea almost every day.

Skin transformation in little time
I am very happy I stumbled upon this amazing food! My 5yr old yellow lab has been eating for several months now and in such a short time her skin has transformed from dry, itchy and super inflamed to soft, shiny and hardly any scratching and I've been working at this for years, trying everything and all kinds of different grain free dog food. The no white potato diet has cleared up her ear infections as well. :)

Feel good about feeding it to my canine kids
Been feeding this to my rescue doge for many years. Happy with the ingredients and tried several foods before I found the one they all will eat. Also seems to contribute to their coats being healthy and shiny. And, it's made in the USA...that is a big plus!,

Infested with Weevils... no returns
We opened a new bag delivered on subscription and poured it directly into an empty/clean/airtight bin (i had just cleaned it out). Next morning found 4 weevils hanging out on the scooper and on top of the food. I got rid of them and scooped out food while checking for bugs, didn't see anymore and hoped that was it. Sure enough, next morning (after the bin was undisturbed over night), 4 more weevils sitting on the scooper and top of the food in the bin. This bag is infested, and Amazon states no returns... Understandably no one wants to return or take a return on an item like this, but I do expect a refund. And I won't be buying this food anymore.... I understand that weevils are common, but for $50, I expect for it to at least show up bug free.
