My partner bought this for me and while I love how much it can fit and the way it looks in our bathroom, when it shuts it’s very loud and jarring as it slams and careful it may catch your fingers! As hard as the lid slams, I’m surprised it hasn’t cracked the wood yet so it is pretty sturdy. For aesthetic reasons yes, functionality is ok, but be cautious not to pinch your fingers and everyone will hear it close unless you intentionally close it quietly.
